A convenient and versatile method for preparing complex metal oxides is disclosed. The method uses a low temperature, environmentally friendly gel-collection method to form a single phase nanomaterial. In one embodiment, the nanomaterial consists of BaMnTiOin a controlled stoichiometry.

Apparatus and methods for forming the apparatus include nanoparticles, catalyst nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes generated from catalyst nanoparticles, and methods of fabrication of such nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes.

Preparing nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes

The present invention relates to cobalt and molybdenum doped mesoporous silica catalysts and methods for using the catalysts to making Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes. The methods offer increased control over the orientation, length and diameter of the nanotubes produced.
