A system described herein may output, during a particular time window (e.g., in a simulation environment), a series of wireless transmissions to one or more User Equipment ('UEs') of a particular type. The series of wireless transmissions may include first set of transmissions associated with a first set of parameters and a second set of transmissions associated with a second set of parameters. The system may receive channel quality measurements from the one or more UEs, and may identify a measure of variance between the channel quality measurements from the one or more UEs. The system may generate a reliability score associated with the particular type of UE based on the identified measure of variance, and may output, to a wireless network, the reliability score associated with the particular type of UE. The wireless network may communicate with UEs of the particular type based on the reliability score.

Systems and methods for determining reliability of channel quality measurements provided by user equipment

A network device may receive a request for functionality to switch to wideband audio at a user device receiving over-the-top (OTT) video and OTT audio associated with a video conferencing application provided by an application server. The network device may switch from the OTT audio to the wideband audio, for the video conferencing application, based on receiving the request for the functionality. The network device may provide the wideband audio associated with the video conferencing application to the user device to cause the user device to provide the OTT video and the wideband audio independently.

Systems and methods for enhancing audio for a video conferencing application

Systems and methods described herein enable dynamic in-app subscriptions and controls for network slices. A user device receives a command to launch an application and identifies a preferred network slice for the application. The application determines that a network services subscription for the user device does not include the preferred network slice and obtains consent, from a user of the user device, to add the preferred network slice to the network services subscription. The user device receives, from a provider network, authorization for using the preferred network slice by the application and initiates a network session on the preferred network slice.

Systems and methods for management of network slice access

A system described herein may apply an authorized set of traffic parameters, such as network slicing parameters, Quality of Service ('QoS') parameters, etc. to traffic associated with a particular application, without exposing an identifier of the traffic to one or more network devices of a network that handles the traffic. A client associated with a User Equipment (“UE”) may selectively apply traffic parameters to traffic associated with the particular application further based on whether a UE-side authorization of the particular application for the traffic parameters has been performed. The UE may present a user interface via which a user may select whether to authorize or deny the use of traffic parameters, authorized by the network, for the particular application. If the particular application has been authorized by both the network and the user of the UE, the UE may apply the traffic parameters to traffic associated with the particular application.

Systems and methods for selectable application-specific quality of service parameters in a wireless network

Systems and methods described herein provide a network-based solution to efficiently transition private network subscribers from a macro network to a private network. A network device in the macro network stores a neighbor list identifying a private network that has overlapping coverage with a cell for the macro network. The network device detects that a user equipment (UE) device connected to the network device has a subscription to the private network and, in response to the detecting, sends, a release message to the UE device. The release message includes a redirection to the private network.

A method may include receiving, by at least one network device and from a user device, a registration message including a service identifier and at least one of a network slice identifier or a network slice token. The method may also include determining, based on information included in the registration message, whether the user device is authorized to use a network slice associated with the service identifier. A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to an EASDF secure service. The EASDF secure service may include a network-side service that may validate access and authorization to use a domain name system (DNS) resolver device, such as an edge application server discovery function. The network-side service may validate access and authorization of an end device based on tokens. The EASDF secure service may include an end device-side service that includes a token with a DNS query to the DNS resolver device. The end device-side service may further provide authorization regarding access and use of applications, networks, and application devices that host applications and/or assets by the end device at the end device. The end device-side service may determine access and/or authorization based on tokens and a validation procedure performed at the end device.

A device may include a processor configured to send a plurality of attach requests to a base station using a radio access technology (RAT) and determine that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed. The processor may be further configured to override a triggering of a backoff timer, wherein the UE device is barred from attaching using the RAT if the backoff timer is triggered and running, in response to determining that each of the plurality of attach requests has failed, and send another attach request to the base station using the RAT during a time period associated with the backoff timer.

Systems and methods for handling non-access stratum layer failures

A system described herein may provide a technique for a policy and/or rules element of a core network, such as a Policy Control Function ('PCF'), to identify a first network slice with which a communication session between a User Equipment (“UE”) and a core network, such as a protocol data unit (“PDU”) session, is associated. The policy and/or rules element may identify a second network slice with which the communication session should be associated, such as based on traffic monitoring, network congestion monitoring, or other criteria, and may output an indication, indicating a second network slice, to a session control element, such as an Session Management Function (“SMF”). The session control element may cause the communication session to be moved from the first network slice to the second network slice based on receiving the indication.

Systems and methods for network slice modification by policy control function in a wireless network

A user equipment (UE) can receive a first data stream and a second data stream; store data units of the second data stream, as stored data units, in a buffer while a retransmission operation is performed for the first data stream; determine that a threshold is satisfied with regard to the buffer, wherein the threshold is associated with a counter that is maintained based on the storing of the data units; and provide the stored data units based on determining that the threshold is satisfied.

Method and system for dynamic connected mode discontinuous reception

A device described herein may maintain information associating sets of traffic attributes with respective sets of Quality of Service ('QoS') parameters, and may receive a request to establish a traffic flow. The request may indicate one or more traffic attributes associated with the requested traffic flow. The device may compare the one or more traffic attributes, included in the request, to the information associating the sets of traffic attributes with the respective sets of QoS parameters, identify a particular set of QoS parameters with which the traffic flow is associated, establish a communication session with a network based on the particular set of QoS parameters, communicate traffic, associated with the traffic flow, with the network via the established communication session. The device may include an application programming interface (“API”) via which an application associated with the traffic flow may specify the traffic attributes in the request.

A network device, of a fifth generation (5G) radio access network, may establish a connection or a session with a user equipment connected to a Wi-Fi network. The network device may determine an indicator indicating whether a 5G network preference is in effect based on a subscription of the user equipment and may provide the indicator to the user equipment. The network device may maintain the connection or the session with the user equipment when the indicator indicates that the Wi-Fi network is not preferred for Wi-Fi offload and may receive traffic from the user equipment when the indicator indicates that the Wi-Fi network is not preferred for Wi-Fi offload.

A device may include a processor. The processor may be configured to: send an enlistment request to a network over a wireless connection, wherein the enlistment request includes an application identifier (ID) corresponding to an application to be enlisted; receive a reply from the network in response to the enlistment request, wherein the reply includes a replacement User Equipment Route Selection Policy (URSP) rule; receive a session request from the application to establish a session; identify, in response to the session request and based on the replacement URSP rule, a network slice on the network; and establish the session between the application and the identified network slice on the network.

System and method for ephemeral assignment of network slices

A gateway wirelessly connected to a mobile network receives traffic for a user equipment device (UE) connected to the gateway. A router of the gateway identifies a network slice, from a set of network slices potentially supported by the mobile network, for the traffic, and applies network address translation (NAT) policy rules to select a NAT type from multiple different NAT types to perform for the traffic based on the identified network slice. The router of the gateway performs the selected NAT type for the traffic and forwards the traffic to a gateway modem for transmitting towards the traffic's destination.
