Detecting a touch includes receiving image data of a touching object of a user selecting selectable objects of a target surface, determining a rate of movement of the touching object, in response to determining that the rate of movement satisfies a predetermined threshold, modifying a touch detection parameter for detecting a touch event between the touching object and the target surface, and detecting one or more additional touch events using the modified touch detection parameter.

Speed adapted touch detection

One exemplary implementation provides an improved user experience on a device by using physiological data to initiate a user interaction for the user experience based on an identified interest or intention of a user. For example, a sensor may obtain physiological data (e.g., pupil diameter) of a user during a user experience in which content is displayed on a display. The physiological data varies over time during the user experience and a pattern is detected. The detected pattern is used to identify an interest of the user in the content or an intention of the user regarding the content. The user interaction is then initiated based on the identified interest or the identified intention.

Pupil modulation as a cognitive control signal

Sensor data indicating a user's response to an avatar experience in which the user experiences a rendered avatar model is obtained. A perceptual quality metric value corresponding to the rendered avatar model is determined based on the sensor data and a determined relationship between the sensor data and the perceptual quality metric value. The avatar model is re-rendered for display based on the perceptual quality metric value.

Methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory computer readable storage media for external vehicle communication are described. A method for external vehicle communication may include determining a vehicular path for a vehicle and an extra-vehicular path for an extra-vehicular object external to the vehicle, the vehicular path based on vehicle state data including a vehicle velocity and a vehicle orientation, the extra-vehicular path based on extra-vehicular state data including an object velocity and an object orientation of the extra-vehicular object; determining when the vehicular path will intercept the extra-vehicular path based on the vehicle state data and the extra-vehicular state data; determining an object identity for the extra-vehicular object and a distance between the vehicle and the extra-vehicular object; and generating at least one external communication based on the object identity when the distance between the vehicle and the extra-vehicular object is less than a predetermined threshold distance.
