The invention further refers to a method of identifying a nucleotide sequence encoding a mut-HPPD which is resistant or tolerant to a N-heterocyclyl-arylcarboxamide, as well as transgenic plants having increased resistance or tolerance to a N-heterocyclyl-arylcarboxamide as compared to a wild-type variety of the plant cell.
