The disclosure relates to antimicrobial compositions and their methods of use and manufacture. In particular, the antimicrobial compositions described herein comprise an antimicrobial active, a primary foaming agent, and an L-amino acid to provide rapid antimicrobial efficacy. In a preferred embodiment, the antimicrobial compositions are dermal cleansers. In a most preferred embodiment, the antimicrobial compositions comprise a foam structure enhancing agent.

Antimicrobial enhancement of cationic active skin antiseptics

A water-in-silicone cosmetic composition in the form of an emulsion. The cosmetic composition comprises an aqueous phase and a silicone phase. The aqueous phase comprises a hydrating agent from about 1% to about 40% by weight based on the total weight of the composition. The silicone phase having about 18% to about 40% of silicone-containing compounds by weight based on the total weight of the composition, comprises at least one silicone polymer; a film former from about 0.01% to about 4% by weight based on the total weight of the composition; at least one emulsifying crosslinked siloxane elastomer; at least one co-emulsifier from about 0.1% to about 3% by weight based on the total weight of the composition; and wherein the cosmetic composition has a unique occlusive texture that provides low friction and high glide.

Cosmetic compositions providing an occlusive texture

A sunscreen composition includes a silicone phase that includes at least one silicone film former, a blend of silicones that includes at least one of each of a low viscosity silicone fluid, a silicone co-emulsifier and a self-emulsifying silicone elastomer. The composition includes a UV filter system that includes one or more UV filters. The silicone film former and blend of silicones are present in quantities sufficient to provide an SPF that is boosted by at least 100% as compared to a composition that lacks silicone film former, and the cosmetic composition has a unique texture that provides low friction and high glide.

SPF-enhanced water-releasing sunscreen composition

A composition provides a protective barrier and includes glyceryl dibehenate, tribehenin, and glyceryl behenate, a surfactant that includes glyceryl stearate, one or more fatty compounds, and one or more triglyceride. The composition optionally includes a hydrating agent and may be essentially free of or is devoid of one or more of petrolatum, mineral oil and water. The composition provides occlusivity and hydration effects that are comparable to compositions that include one or more of petrolatum, mineral oil and lanolin.
