A cell measurement method and an apparatus are provided, to resolve a problem in the conventional technology that a resource waste is caused due to excessively high power consumption of a terminal device. In the method, after determining indication information, a network device sends the indication information to the terminal device, where the indication information indicates the terminal device to perform cell measurement to obtain N cells meeting a cell quality parameter threshold; and the terminal device performs cell measurement based on the indication information.

Cell measurement method and device

This application provides a paging method and apparatus. The method includes: A first device receives a first paging message, where the first paging message includes a first list, and the first list includes an area identifier of at least one cell. The first device determines a first cell, where an area identifier of the first cell at a first moment is different from an area identifier of the first cell at a second moment, the first moment is a current moment, and the second moment is earlier than the first moment. When the area identifier of the first cell at the first moment does not belong to the first list, the first device stops paging a terminal device in the first cell. According to the foregoing technical solutions, the first device may effectively page the terminal device, to reduce signaling overheads of the first device, and save power.

Paging method and apparatus

Example communication methods and apparatus are described. One example method includes receiving first information from a first device, where the first information indicates N moments and location information of the first device at the N moments. The first device obtains second information, where the second information indicates a correspondence between the N moments and M area identifiers, or the second information indicates a correspondence between N locations and M area identifiers. According to the foregoing technical solution, the first device sends the location information of the first device at the N moments, so that the M area identifiers corresponding to the first device at the N moments or the M area identifiers corresponding to N pieces of location information can be obtained.

Communication method and apparatus

This application provides a communication method and apparatus, to determine a DRX cycle. The method includes: receiving data in an active time of a current DRX cycle; when a DRX inactivity timer of the current DRX cycle expires, determining a type of a next DRX cycle depending on whether at least some data received in the active time is associated with a DRX short cycle, where if the at least some data is not associated with a DRX short cycle, the next DRX cycle is a DRX long cycle, or the type of the next DRX cycle is the same as that of a DRX cycle previous to the current DRX cycle. When the DRX inactivity timer expires, the type of the next DRX cycle can be more flexibly determined, and may not necessarily be a DRX short cycle. This can save power of a device to some extent.

A method and an apparatus for transmitting a timing difference. The method includes obtaining, by a master node, a measurement value of a timing difference between a first cell and a second cell, and sending, by the master node, the measurement value of the timing difference and identification information of the second cell to a secondary node, where the first cell is a primary cell corresponding to the master node, the second cell includes a primary secondary cell corresponding to the secondary node or another cell different from the primary secondary cell, and the identification information of the second cell includes a physical cell identifier (PCI) and frequency information of the second cell.

Method and apparatus for transmitting timing difference

Embodiments of this application provide a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SSB) measurement method and an apparatus. One example method includes that a terminal device receives first information and second information. The first information indicates a time domain position of an SSB sent by a serving cell, and the second information indicates a set of SSBs that the terminal device needs to measure and that are sent by a neighboring cell. The terminal device measures, in a first measurement window based on the first information, the SSB sent by the serving cell. The terminal device measures, in a second measurement window based on the second information, the SSB sent by the neighboring cell.

SSB measurement method and apparatus

The present disclosure relates to communication methods and devices. One example method includes sending, by a first network device, a first parameter to a second network device, where the first parameter is used to indicate a proportion of measurement gap sharing between different measurement types. The first network device has a radio link control layer function, a media access control layer function, and a physical layer function. The second network device has a packet data convergence protocol layer function, a service data adaptation protocol layer function, and a radio resource control layer function.

Example cell measurement methods and apparatus are described. One example method includes obtaining, by a first network device, a first paging parameter of a cell served by a second network device. The first paging parameter is used to indicate a first time domain position at which a terminal device monitors a paging message from the second network device. The first network device sends a reference signal based on the first paging parameter. A time domain position of the reference signal is determined based on the first time domain position.

Cell measurement method and apparatus

This application provides a measurement configuration method and an apparatus. The method includes: determining that a serving cell changes from a first cell to a second cell; and updating or deleting a current measurement window configuration. The measurement window configuration is used to indicate a time domain position at which a terminal device measures a downlink reference signal. According to the solution provided in this application, when the serving cell of the terminal device changes, the current measurement window configuration of the terminal device is updated or deleted, so that a problem that the measurement window configuration of the terminal device is not applicable to measurement can be resolved to some extent.

Measurement configuration method and apparatus

Embodiments of the application provide a communications method and apparatus. A target cell is determined based on measurement results of N measured cells and a preset value when there is a first cell satisfying a report trigger condition. A measurement result of the target cell is sent to a base station. A terminal may not only send the measurement result of the cell satisfying the trigger condition to the base station, but also send a measurement result of another cell to the base station. In this way, a quantity of cells that can be selected during determining of handover can be increased, to help the base station select a suitable cell for the terminal.
