In one aspect of the disclosure, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, a grant message indicating a set of sidelink resources. Scheduling sidelink resources for multiple unicasts by a single downlink control information message

Aspects presented herein may enable a UE to multiplex an SCI-exclusive message with a data-exclusive message/traffic. In one aspect, a first UE multiplexes SCI with a PSSCH in a slot, the SCI being associated with a control message and the PSSCH being associated with a data message, and the SCI including an indication that the SCI and the PSSCH are decoupled in the slot. The first UE transmits, to a second UE, the SCI and the PSSCH in the slot. In another aspect, a second UE receives, from a first UE, SCI and a PSSCH in a slot, the SCI being associated with a control message and the PSSCH being associated with a data message, and the SCI including an indication that the SCI and the PSSCH are decoupled in the slot. The second UE decodes the data message based at least in part on the indication.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring sidelink slots with multiple automatic gain control symbols. One aspect provides a method for wireless communication by a user equipment, including enabling a slot configuration comprising at least two symbols configured for use by a receiver for automatic gain control in preconfigured symbol locations within a slot, and transmitting the at least two symbols while transmitting symbols within the slot.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for improving sidelink communication reliability. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may map allocated sidelink resources from a logical domain to a physical domain, where the mapped resources may include greater frequency diversity in the physical domain A frequency range of a sidelink control channel or of a sidelink data channel may be greater in the physical domain than in the logical domain after the mapping. In some examples, sidelink communications may be associated with an aggregation factor that represents a number of repetitions of a sidelink communication. In this example, a UE may repeat a sidelink communication within a contention-based resource pool a number of times before receiving feedback in order to increase communication reliability. A first UE may communicate a sidelink communication with a second UE using a resource mapping or repetitions of the sidelink communication.

Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring a search space for sidelink communications between one or more sensors/actuators (SAs) and programmable logic controller (PLC) in internet of things (IoT) applications in order to minimize the number of subchannels that a receiver (e.g., PLC or SA) may need to blind decode. More particularly, the search space is configurable based on a hashing function that is based in part on a portion of the resources (e.g., PLC resources) that have been allocated or reserved for sidelink communication within the PLC subnetwork (or PLC group) from the sidelink resource pool available to a plurality of PLCs in a network. By limiting the search space to a subset of resources that are specific to the PLC subnetwork or group, the need for the SA or PLC to perform blind decoding of sidelink control information (SCI) may be further reduced.

A method performed by a first sidelink (SL) user equipment (UE) includes receiving a downlink control information (DCI) from a number of coupled DCIs. The DCI grants reception of a number of scheduled physical SL shared channels (PSSCHs) over an unlicensed SL carrier, and requests a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) response for the scheduled PSSCHs. The method also includes receiving at least one of the PSSCHs from a second SL UE. The method further includes transmitting the HARQ response based on the at least one received PSSCH.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a wireless communications system may support short reference signals for sidelink communication. A transmitting user equipment (UE) and a receiving UE may receive, from a base station, configuration signaling that indicates a set of sidelink resources that includes a set of slots within a subcarrier. A subset of the slots may include a first set of symbols allocated to a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) and a second set of symbols allocated to a reference signal, where the first set of symbols comes before the second set of symbols in a time domain. The transmitting UE may transmit, to the receiving UE, a reference signal over the second set of symbols and the receiving UE may utilize the reference signal to decode data message received from the transmitting UE.

Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may help enhance power control for sidelink transmissions. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications by a first user equipment (UE) generally includes transmitting a power headroom report (PHR) to a second UE, receiving, from the second UE, a transmit power control (TPC) based on the PHR, and transmitting at least a first sidelink transmission to the second UE with transmit power in accordance with the TPC.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support the transmission of a scheduling request via a physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH). In some cases, a user equipment (UE) may determine a configuration of a set of PSFCH resource blocks (RBs). The UE may receive a first bit map that may indicate a subset of the set of PSFCH RBs allocated for transmitting a scheduling request on the PSFCH, and the UE may receive a second bit map that may indicate a second subset of the PSFCH RBs allocated for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) messages. The UE may transmit a scheduling request via one or more RBs of the first subset of the PSFCH RBs. In some cases, the UE may generate a waveform for transmitting the scheduling request message, and the waveform may be based on the number of RBs selected.

Resource mapping for a scheduling request on a physical sidelink feedback channel

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a first user equipment (UE) to manage the reuse of resources reserved for sidelink communications by the UE. The first UE may identify scheduling information for a sidelink shared channel between the first UE and a second UE, and the first UE may reserve a set of resources for subsequent sidelink communications by the first UE. The first UE may transmit a sidelink control message indicating the scheduling information and the reserved resources to one or more neighboring UEs. The sidelink control message may include a reuse allowance indicator that may indicate whether the set of reserved resources is available for spatial reuse by the neighboring UEs. The neighboring UEs may determine whether the reuse the reserved resources based on the control message, the reuse allowance indicator, or both.

Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring a search space for reverse sidelink communications between one or more sensors/actuators (SAs) and programmable logic controller (PLC) in internet of things (IoT) applications. Particularly, the techniques described herein configure a search space (e.g., subset of all available sub-channels) for reception of sidelink packets (e.g., physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) and physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH)) that may be received at the PLC from the one or more SAs. In some examples, the PLC may monitor the subset of subchannels and decode the sidelink packets received on the subset of subchannels without the need for the PLC to perform blind decoding of all sidelink sub-channels as is currently required in conventional systems. Thus, the disclosed techniques reduce latency and maximize the resource utilization (e.g., by using less processing power and bandwidth) for sidelink communications.

Techniques for configuring search spaces for reverse sidelink communication

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may transmit a polling request to a receiving device in sidelink control information that is associated with a sidelink data transmission. The polling request may be included in a sidelink control information message or in a medium access control layer message. The receiving device may respond to the polling request with an indication of whether there is data available for transmission to the transmitting device at the receiving device. The transmitting device may determine whether to schedule reverse sidelink resources for the receiving device to transmit the available data based on the response to the polling request.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may receive a sidelink control indicator (SCI) from a second UE and selects resources and directions for communication. The SCI may include one or more resources and corresponding directions reserved by the second UE. The first UE may use the resources and directions indicated in the received SCI to select available resources with which to reserve forward direction transmissions, reverse direction transmissions, or both. For example, the first UE may avoid reserving resources and directions corresponding to the resources and directions indicated in the received SCI, or may reserve such resources despite receiving the SCI, such as if the received SCI has a relatively low reference signal received power (RSRP). The first UE may transmit an SCI indicating resources reserved by the first UE and associated directionalities.
