This application discloses a service level configuration methods and apparatuses, and belongs to the field of communications network technologies. According to an example method, a target service level used by a first forwarding node to forward a data flow is directly determined based on a transmission parameter of the data flow and service level information of the first forwarding node, and service level configuration is performed on the first forwarding node. Because a transmission parameter of the target service level of the first forwarding node and the transmission parameter of the data flow meet a first target condition, if the first target condition is a delay requirement required by a special service and the first forwarding node transmits the data flow by using the target service level, transmission of the data flow may meet the delay requirement required by the special service.

A service traffic adjustment method includes a first controller obtaining a first limit value of a traffic parameter and a second limit value of the traffic parameter. The first controller obtains a target value of the traffic parameter based on the first limit value of the traffic parameter, the second limit value of the traffic parameter, and configuration information of a forwarding device through which the service flow passes. The target value of the traffic parameter meets a delay requirement of the service flow, the target value falls within a range determined based on the first limit value of the traffic parameter and the second limit value of the traffic parameter, and the first limit value is not equal to the second limit value. The first network device determines the phase difference based on the first message. The method is applied to an in-vehicle network and includes: obtaining, by a network device, a plurality of packets carried on an Ethernet link in the in-vehicle network, where the plurality of packets are packets of one or more application categories; determining a traffic class of each packet based on an application category of each packet in the plurality of packets; adding each packet to a forwarding queue corresponding to the traffic class based on the traffic class of each packet; and scheduling and forwarding packets in all forwarding queues based on an absolute priority and a traffic class corresponding to each forwarding queue, and using a shaper in a forwarding queue of at least one traffic class in intermediate traffic classes in the scheduling and forwarding process.

A method for communication between controllers in TSN. A first controller receives a first packet that is sent by a second controller and that includes an identifier of a TSN domain to which the second controller belongs. The first controller determines, based on the TSN domain identifier, that the first controller and the second controller belong to a same TSN domain. The first controller sends, to the second controller, a second packet that carries user information. According to the foregoing method, communication and exchange between the controllers may be implemented, so that the controllers cooperatively configure a network device in the TSN.

If the quantity of tokens in the first token bucket meets the requirement for transmitting the packet, a quantity of tokens required for transmitting the packet is obtained, and the packet is transmitted using the first link. If the quantity of tokens in the first token bucket does not meet the requirement for transmitting the packet, determining whether a second link is congested. If the second link is not in a congested state, the transmitting device transmits the packet by using the second link.
