Compounds are provided having the structure ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl of 1-3 carbons, R.sup.2 is carboxyl, hydroxymethyl, lower alkanoyloxymethyl, or lower alkoxycarbonyl, R.sup.3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or benzyl, and R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are the same or different and represent hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, alkanoyloxy, benzyloxy, hydroxy, halogen (Cl, Br and F), nitro, and trifluoromethyl. These compounds are useful as anti-allergics when administered parenterally or by insufflation but have poor activity when administered orally.
