Apparatuses, methods and storage medium associated with installing and executing an application program on an embedded system are described herein. In embodiments, an embedded system may include an application management program and an application execution program to install an application program onto the embedded system. The application management program is to verify metadata associated with the application program, in response to a first request to install the application program on the embedded system; and the application execution program is to verify the application program, in response to a second request, subsequent to the first request, to verify the application program. Various embodiments are generally directed to implementing a secure mailbox in resource-constrained embedded systems. An apparatus to establish communication with a trusted execution environment includes a processor component, a co-processor component for executing the trusted execution environment, a host operating system component for execution by the processor component and including one or more application components, a mailbox array component for execution by the co-processor to store one or more mailbox components, each mailbox component being associated with a mailbox identification number, and a mailbox firewall component for execution by the co-processor component to facilitate communication between the one or more application components and the one or more mailbox components. In embodiments, an apparatus may include an analyzer configured to receive a workload for a device and a class library used by the workload, analyze the workload and class library, identify one or more workload full API call chains, and generate information about the one or more workload full API call chains. Further, the apparatus may include a generator to generate from the class library, a custom class library for the workload that is smaller than the class library, based at least in part on the one or more workload full API call chains. A memory manager that compacts a memory heap and reclaims space allocated to dead entities is disclosed. The memory manager may include threads of a first phase, threads of a second phase, and threads of a third phase. The threads of the first phase may assign a target address to each live entity of the memory heap. The thread of the second phase may update references of the memory heap based upon the target address for each live entity. The threads of the third phase may copy each live entity of the memory heap to its target address.
