An impedance matching structure for a high-speed connector includes a pair of ground leads, a differential pair of signal leads, a ground plane, a first region in which the ground leads and the differential pair of signal leads are coplanar within a first plane, and a second region in which the differential pair of signal leads lies on the first plane and the ground plane lies on a second plane extending along the first plane. The impedance matching structure has a transition region between the first region and the second region. The ground leads are connected to the ground plane in the transition region. An impedance matching projection is arranged in the transition region and projects from a side of the differential pair of signal leads.

A cable shield tunnel for an electrical device includes a ground bus and a floor shim, discrete from the ground bus, and coupled to a circuit card and forming a cable tunnel that receives an end of a cable. The ground bus includes an end wall extending along a first end of the cable tunnel, a first side wall extending from the end wall along a first side of the cable tunnel, and a second side wall extending from the end wall along a second side of the cable tunnel opposite the first side. The first and second side walls are configured to be coupled to the circuit card. The floor shim is provided at a second end of the cable tunnel opposite the first end and is positioned between the cable and the circuit card.

A shielding housing includes a receptacle configured to receive an electrical connector assembly including an electrical connector and a mating connector connected to the electrical connector. The receptacle is formed as a straight passage with an opening at each end of the straight passage. Either end of the straight passage receives one of the electrical connector and the mating connector along a mating axis coaxial with the straight passage.

An electrical connector includes a housing and plural contact modules stacked adjacent to each other and held by the housing. Each contact module includes a contact array, a dielectric holder, and lossy blocks. The contact array includes signal contacts and ground contacts arranged in alternating pairs along a length of a column. The dielectric holder surrounds and engages the signal and ground contacts along intermediate segments thereof to secure the signal and ground contacts in place. The lossy blocks are mounted to the intermediate segments of the ground contacts within the dielectric holder. Each lossy block is associated with a corresponding pair of ground contacts and engages at least one of the ground contacts in the pair. The lossy blocks are composed of a lossy material that has a greater loss tangent than a low loss material that forms the dielectric holder.

A header transition connector includes a header housing having a separating wall separating a first cavity from a second cavity. Header signal contacts are held by the header housing. The header signal contacts are arranged in pairs carrying differential signals. The header signal contacts have first mating ends in the first cavity for mating with a first receptacle connector. The header signal contacts have second mating ends in the second cavity for mating with a second receptacle connector. Header ground shields are held by the header housing. The header ground shields have first mating ends in the first cavity for mating with the first receptacle connector. At least a group of the header ground shields are electrically commoned with each other within the header housing.

The invention relates to a coaxial connector () for mounting on a printed circuit board adapted to receive a mating coaxial connector in an insertion direction (I). The coaxial connector comprises a contact spring () having a fixed leg () and an deflectable switching leg (). The switching leg () is moved by insertion of the mating connector from a rest position to a switching position. In rest position said switching leg electrically conductively presses against the switch portion () of the contact element (). The spring force flux (F) is guided via a contact element () in a closed loop back to the contact spring (). In switching position the switching leg () is spaced apart in an switching direction (D) from the switch portion () by the inserted mating connector. To provide smaller dimensions the contact element () is formed as a substantially C-shaped clip forming an opening (O) framed by the support portion () and the switch portion (), the switching leg () of the contact spring () extending into the opening.

Disclosed is a micro-plug and socket connector that is suitable for mounting on a printed circuit board and that has a plastic housing including a fastening surface with soldering portions for mounting on the surface of the printed circuit board, a plug receiving opening having an inner contact region for the receiving and contacting a pin contact, and an outer contact terminal. The inner contact region, the outer contact terminal, the soldering portions and the electrically conductive connections provided therebetween are formed of metallized portions on the plastic housing.
