Polymer compositions include an interpolymer of ethylene, an α-olefin, and a nonconjugated polyene; and from 10% to 40% by weight oil. The polymer composition has a Mooney viscosity from 20 to 70. The interpolymer may include from 66% to 75% by weight monomer units derived from ethylene; and from 0.5% to 10% by weight monomer units derived from the nonconjugated polyene. The neat interpolymer may have: a weight-average molecular weight Mw from 250 kDa to 300 kDa; a Mooney viscosity from 50 to 200; a rheology ratio V/Vless than 30; a ratio of molecular weight to low-shear viscosity Mw/Vgreater than 4.0; a polydispersity index from 2.0 to 3.5; and a tan δ at 0.1 rad/sand 190° C. greater than 2.0. The polymer compositions may be in the form of pellets having desirable flow characteristics. Thermoplastic vulcanizates may include the polymer compositions. Articles may include the thermoplastic vulcanizates.

Oil-extended pellet form ethylene alpha-olefin diene interpolymers for thermoplastic vulcanizates

A multilayer film () having excellent mechanical strength and transparency comprise a core layer (), at least two skin layers, and at least two sub-skin layers disposed between the core layer () and the two skin layers. The core layer () comprises at least 60 wt. % linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). The sub-skin layers comprise at least 60 wt. % low density polyethylene (LDPE). The skin layers comprise at least 80 wt. % of LLDPE wherein the LLDPE comprises C6 LLDPE, C8 LLDPE, or combinations thereof, and each skin layer has a thickness of less than 25% of the overall thickness of the multilayer film (). The multilayer film () comprises at least 0.1 wt. % ultraviolet stabilizer.

Multilayer polyolefin greenhouse films with high transparency

A multi-layer film comprising: a) a first layer comprising i) a polyolefin component; and ii) a polyethylene oxide/polyethylene copolymer having a Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance value in the range of from 2 to 6; b) a second layer comprising i) a polyolefin component; ii) from 1 to 5 weight percent of an additive selected from the group consisting of sorbitan esters, polyoxyethylene esters, glycerol esters, polyglycerol esters, fluorine-based compounds and combinations thereof, wherein the additive has a Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance value in the range of from 7 to 18; and iii) an inorganic filler; wherein the second layer is adjacent to the first layer and c) a skin layer comprising a polyolefin component, is disclosed. The multi-layer film is used in greenhouse applications.

Multi-layer greenhouse film with superior anti-dripping performance

Embodiments of films, for example, infrared absorbing, heat retaining films, comprise at least one polymer selected from: a low density polyethylene (LDPE) having a density range of 0.900 g/cc to 0.930 g/cc and a melt index (I) of 0.3 g/10 min to 2.0 g/10 min as measured in accordance with ASTM D1238; a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) having a density range of 0.900 g/cc to 0.930 g/cc and a melt index Iof 0.3 g/10 min to 2.0 g/10 min; and a ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer having a vinyl acetate content ranging from 3 wt. % to 27 wt. % and a melt index Iof 0.2 g/10 min to 10 g/10 min. The films also comprise a hybrid filler comprising (i) a layered double hydroxide, and (ii) an inorganic powder complex having a particle size distribution defined by a median diameter (D50) of 1.5 to 20 &#x3bc;m.
