A medical device with a capacitive sensing function includes a medical body having a syringe and a sensing circuit having an electrode, a protective film adhered to the medical body and including a plastic film, an electrode provided on the plastic film and opposite from the electrode of the medical body, and a capacitive sensor formed by the electrode of the medical body and the electrode of the protective film and being a part of the sensing circuit, wherein a capacitance value of the capacitive sensor changed under the condition of removing the protective film from the medical body, the sensing circuit being configured to detect the capacitance value and trigger corresponding function of the medical body.

Medical device with capacitive sensing function

In an aspect, the present disclosure discloses a medical sensor to be connected to a monitoring device for vital sign monitoring. The medical sensor includes a flexible circuit layer having an electrode pattern, a foam layer laminated on the flexible circuit layer, a bonding layer sandwiched between the flexible circuit layer and the foam layer to bond the foam layer with the flexible circuit layer, and a gel sponge disposed on and electrically connected to the electrode pattern through the foam layer and the bonding layer. The area of the bonding layer is smaller than the area of the foam layer. A part of the foam layer adjacent the perimeter is not covered by the bonding layer, and not bonded to the flexible circuit layer by the bonding layer to provide the medical sensor enough conformability to a body.

Medical sensor

A security wrap () for protecting an electronic component includes a substrate () having a first side and a second side opposite to each other. A security screen () is disposed over the first side of the substrate () and includes a pair of screen terminals () and a frangible and electrically conductive path () between the pair of screen terminals (). A layer of adhesive () is over the first side of the substrate () and bonds the first side of the substrate () to the electronic component with the security screen () sandwiched there between.

Security wrap with breakable conductors

An electronic device is protected from unauthorized access by use of a security wrap which comprises at least a substrate, a security screen, a layer of adhesive and decoy pattern. The security screen is disposed over one side of the substrate and includes a pair of screen terminals and a conductive path between the pair of screen terminals. The layer of adhesive bonds the first side of the substrate to the electronic component with the security screen sandwiched there between. The decoy pattern is at least partially impervious to X-ray and overlays said security screen.

Security wrap

A security wrap () for protecting an electronic component () includes a substrate () having a first side and a second side opposite to each other. A conductive path () is disposed over the first side of the substrate () and has first and second ends coupled to the electronic component (), and a pattern selected from a plurality of predetermined patterns. A layer of adhesive () is over the first side of the substrate () and bonds the first side of the substrate () to the electronic component () with the conductive path () sandwiched there between.

A security wrap () for protecting an electronic component () having a bonding surface includes a substrate () having a first side and a second side opposite to each other. A first security screen () is disposed over the first side of the substrate () and includes a first pair of screen terminals () and a first conductive track () between the first pair of screen terminals (). A second security screen () includes a second pair of screen terminals () and a second conductive track () between the second pair of screen terminals () and overlaying the first conductive track () on the first security screen (). A layer of adhesive () is over a side of the second security screen () remote from the substrate () and bonds the second security screen () to the bonding surface of the electronic component ().

Multilayer security wrap

Novel addressing schemes for controlling electronically addressable displays include a scheme for rear-addressing displays, which allows for in-plane switching of the display material. Other schemes include a rear-addressing scheme which uses a retroreflecting surface to enable greater viewing angle and contrast. Another scheme includes an electrode structure that facilitates manufacture and control of a color display. Another electrode structure facilitates addressing a display using an electrostatic stylus. Methods of using the disclosed electrode structures are also disclosed. Another scheme includes devices combining display materials with silicon transistor addressing structures.

Multi-color electrophoretic displays and materials for making the same

The invention relates to methods and materials for controlling stability and color intensity in an electrophoretic display element. Filler particles in the electrophoretic display element, serves as a medium that the electrophoretic particles must travel through during switching between optical states of the display. The filler particles provide improved control over the color intensity of the electrophoretic display element. In addition, the filler particles create resistance to the migration of the electrophoretic particles, thereby improving the bistability of the electrophoretic displays and inhibiting settling of the electrophoretic particles. Also, migration resistance provided by the filler particles can enable threshold addressing of an electrophoretic display.

An electro-optic display comprises a layer () of a solid electro-optic material, at least one electrode disposed adjacent the layer () of electro-optic material, and a layer () of a lamination adhesive interposed between the layer () of electro-optic material and the electrode, the lamination adhesive () having a higher electrical conductivity in a direction perpendicular to the layer of lamination adhesive than in the plane of the layer.

Electro-optic display and materials for use therein

In electrophoretic media, it is advantageous to use pigment particles having about 1 to 15 per cent by weight of a polymer chemically bonded to, or cross-linked around, the pigment particles. The polymer desirably has a branched chain structure with side chains extending from a main chain. Charged or chargeable groups can be incorporated into the polymer or can be bonded to the particles separately from the polymer. The polymer-coated particles can be prepared by first attaching a polymerizable or polymerization-initiating group to the particle and then reacting the particle with one or more polymerizable monomers or oligomers.

Electrophoretic particles and processes for the production thereof

An electrophoretic medium comprises a liquid and at least one particle disposed within the liquid and capable of moving therethrough on application of an electric field to the medium. The medium further comprises a free radical scavenger selected from the group consisting of (a) stable free radicals; and (b) polymeric free radical scavengers comprising a plurality of free radical scavenging groups attached to a polymeric chain. The medium is desirably encapsulated.

Electrophoretic medium with improved stability

An encapsulation material, intended for use in encapsulated electrophoretic displays, comprises the coacervation product of a polyanionic polymer having a vinyl main chain and a plurality of anionic groups bonded to the main chain, with a cationic or zwitterionic water-soluble polymer capable of forming an immiscible second phase on contact with the polyanionic polymer.
