Autodeposition coating compositions that deposit uncured coatings, on metallic surfaces of a substrate, which are curable at oven temperatures of less than 130&#xb0; C., are provided as well as autodeposition methods, compositions and components for depositing such autodeposition coatings. More particularly, the invention relates to autodeposition coatings that cure at temperatures lower than conventional autodeposition coatings, while achieving chemical and corrosion performance comparable to higher temperature cure autodeposition coatings, as well as being directed to autodeposition coating compositions possessing improved storage stability and coating thermal stability, and articles of manufacture having cured and uncured autodeposited coatings deposited thereon.

Low bake autodeposition coatings

The present invention relates to a thickeners that are the polymerization product of a monomer mixture comprising: (a) at least one C3 to C30 olefin; (b) at least one monomer that contains at least one carboxylic acid group; (c) at least one ethylenically unsaturated ester monomer; and (d) one or more crosslinking compounds. Optionally, the above multi-purpose polymer compositions can further include any combination of one or more of: (e) at least one functional monomer; (f) at least one associative hydrophobic monomer; and/or (g) at least one chain transfer agent (CTA) and/or at least one polymeric stabilizer. The thickeners of the present invention are useful in a variety of products including, but not limited to, personal care products, health care products, household care products, institutional and industrial care products, and industrial applications.

Acrylate-olefin copolymers, methods for producing same and compositions utilizing same

A polymerization process to copolymerize hydrophobic ethylenically unsaturated C-Colefins with polar monomers such as acrylates utilizing a polymeric support resin to stabilize the polymerization product in an aqueous media is described. The copolymer shows excellent adhesion to a variety of polymeric and/or polar substrates such as polyolefins, acrylate coatings, wood, etc.

Composite polymer emulsion

A product and processes comprising urethane polymer and at least one copolymer from a hydrophobic ethylenically unsaturated C-Colefins copolymerized with polar monomers such as acrylates. One process optionally utilizes an acid source to modify/catalyze the reactivity of the polar monomer and/or radically activated repeat unit from the polar monomer to promote incorporation of the ethylenically unsaturated olefin. Other processes vary depending on which polymer if formed and/or dispersed first. The hybrid copolymer shows excellent adhesion to a variety of polymeric and/or polar substrates such as polyolefins, acrylate coatings, wood, etc.
