The present invention is a gravity-sensitive latch. The latch includes a pendulum pivotally secured between the actuating button or handle and the pawl. When the latch is in a first position, gravity acting on the pendulum rotates the pendulum so that it abuts the button or handle, permitting actuation of the latch. When the latch is in a second orientation, gravity acting on the pendulum rotates the pendulum away from the button or handle, thereby preventing actuation of the latch. The latch may use a wide variety of buttons, handles, or pawl/keeper combinations.

Gravity-sensitive latch

A latch wherein latching and unlatching is accomplished by an inward push by the keeper into the latch housing. The latch uses an improved housing configuration in conjunction with improved internal components, allowing for more consistent and reliable operation.

Push-push latch

A plunger latch includes a housing and a generally elongate shaft that is driven in the housing between extended and retracted positions. A spring or similar member can be provided for urging the shaft to its extended position. Also, the plunger latch can be adapted so that the shaft is retained in its extended position and/or its retracted position.

Plunger latch

A torque screw having a screw with a head and a threaded shaft, a knob having a central longitudinal axis coaxial with the screw and a one-directional ratchet disposed between the knob and the screw that engages to allow the screw to be disengaged in a counter-clockwise direction using the knob, and engages when rotated in a clockwise direction to a predetermined torque value. Once that predetermined torque value is reached, the ratchet is caused to slip such that the knob turns relatively freely with respect to the screw.
