The light density distribution having a central portion has a lower light density than the peripheral portion, thereby producing a substantially non-uniform light density distribution.

A light emitting device and a projection system adopting same. The light emitting device comprises a coherent source generating coherent light, a diffusing element, and a light guide part. The diffusing element includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other. The diffusing element disperses the coherent light to generate incoherent light. The light guide part is provided on the side of the first surface of the diffusing element and guides the coherent light from the coherent source onto the first surface to form a first light path, guides a part of incoherent light from the first surface through the first light path, guides the remaining incoherent light through a second path, and separates the first and second light paths. The luminous flux of the incoherent light emitting through the first light path is less than that of the incoherent light emitting through the second light path.

A light source system using an excitation light source and a multi-segmented color wheel device with wavelength conversion materials is disclosed. The color wheel device includes a first area having two or more first segments and a second area having two or more second segments for receiving the excitation light. The color wheel device is driven by the driving device periodically, so that a first light sequence is generated by the two or more first segments in the first working mode and a second light sequence is generated by the two or more second segments in the second working mode. The first light sequence is different from the second light sequence. The first and second working modes are switched by a switching device. The light source system may be used in image projection system generating two or more different lights sequences in different working modes.

By setting the relative sizes of the light introducing device and the light collection device, the luminous flux of the supplemental light that is lost due to the light introducing device is less than or equal to a quarter of that the luminous flux of the supplemental light collected by the light collection device. The light source unit () comprises laser units () and collimating lenses () corresponding to the laser units (). The light-emitting surface of the laser units () is a rectangle, and the light divergence angle of laser passing through the cross-section of the long side of the rectangle is smaller than the light divergence angle of same passing through the cross-section of the short side of the rectangle. The collimating lenses () are used for focusing the laser from the laser units () on a target surface to form a predetermined light spot. The laser units () are located on the light axis of the collimating lenses () in a predetermined position deviating from the focal point thereof, so that the predetermined light spot has a predetermined length-width ratio. The light-emitting device and the related projection system have the advantages of relatively small regulation quantity and relatively high assembly efficiency.
