Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may obtain, at an access stratum (AS) layer, an indication of an inter-satellite link (ISL) activation that is to take place at an activation time. The wireless communication device may receive communications. The wireless communication device may buffer the communications in a buffer at the AS layer. The wireless communication device may release the communications from the buffer to an upper protocol layer at a rate of release that is to change between a transition start time and the activation time. Numerous other aspects are described.

Buffer release for inter-satellite link transition

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a time period during which the UE is configured to receive grants scheduling communications for the UE, wherein the grants are associated with a first grant format type. The UE may determine that the grants include a feedback process identifier exceeding a threshold value. The UE may maintain a power saving state of a discontinuous reception procedure for a feedback process associated with the feedback process identifier during the time period based at least in part on the feedback process identifier exceeding the threshold value.

Discontinuous reception for configured grant/semi-persistent scheduling

A UE transmits a sidelink synchronization signal in response to a communication trigger, the sidelink synchronization signal including an indication of the communication trigger to be provided to a network. Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating reusing an air-to-ground communication system to support message-relaying for UEs in remote areas are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes establishing an access link with a terrestrial network. The example method also includes establishing a message layer of the access link for communicating with a payload deployed on-board an aerial device. The example method also includes communicating a communication with the aerial device using the message layer, the communication including a message to be provided to the terrestrial network or received from the terrestrial network.

A method of assessing a reported UE location includes: receiving, at a network entity, the reported UE location; obtaining, at the network entity, a first signal frequency difference indicating a first difference between a received frequency of a first signal received by the UE corresponding to a first transmit signal of a first transmit frequency transmitted from a first non-terrestrial-network node, and a received frequency of a second signal received by the UE corresponding to a second transmit signal of a second transmit frequency transmitted from a second non-terrestrial-network node that is separate from the first non-terrestrial-network node; and providing, by the network entity, a UE location assessment indication based on the first signal frequency difference and a second difference between an expected frequency of the first signal at the reported UE location and an expected frequency of the second signal at the reported UE location.

Reported mobile device location assessment

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a downlink transmission and one or more repetitions of the downlink transmission. The DCI may indicate a first uplink resource for a first feedback message indicating whether the UE receives the downlink transmission and the one or more repetitions. Based on receiving the DCI, the UE may select a second uplink resource for a second feedback message indicating feedback that the UE received the DCI, where the second uplink resource occurs prior to the first uplink resource in a time domain. The UE may transmit the second feedback message on the second uplink resource. The UE and the network node may be part of a non-terrestrial network and, in some examples, may apply a configuration indicated in the DCI based on the second feedback message.

Method to transmit feedback in non-terrestrial networks

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) are described. A UE may operate by asynchronously transmitting code division multiple access (CDMA) uplink signals to a network entity. The UE may transmit the CDMA signals via an uplink channel that may be shared with orthogonal frequency multiplexing (OFDM) signaling transmitted by one or more other UEs. The UE may indicate to the network entity a capability for communicating with CDMA waveforms and may use CDMA waveforms based on transmitting the indication. The UE may also receive one or more parameters associated with using the CDMA waveforms, and may use CDMA waveforms based on the one or more parameters. The uplink channel may be a random access channel (RACH) and may support RACH transmissions, or may be a data channel and support data transmissions.

Concurrent code division and frequency division signaling via an uplink channel

Techniques are described for supporting user equipment (UE) positioning in a non-terrestrial network (NTN). To allow calculating a position/location of a UE based on reference signal (RS) measurements to and from one satellite (or a terrestrial base station), a device may be configured to calculate a doppler measurement and a range measurement and report such measurements to be used by a location server to calculate a UE position. An example device may receive a first RS (with the first RS being one of a positioning reference signal (PRS) or a sounding reference signal (SRS)), receive a second RS associated with the first RS, calculate a doppler measurement based on one or both of the first RS or the second RS, and report the doppler measurement. The doppler measurement (such as a measured frequency offset) may be used by a location server to calculate a UE position on the earth surface.

User equipment positioning based on a non-terrestrial communication network

A UE determines a group identifier based at least in part on a timing advance (TA) associated with the UE, the group identifier associated with at least the UE and a second UE and receives a sidelink resource allocation associated with the group identifier. The UE transmits sidelink communication using the sidelink resource allocation. A network node associates a UE with a group identifier based on a timing advance (TA) associated with the UE and transmits a sidelink resource allocation associated with the group identifier, the group identifier associated with at least the UE and a second UE.

Timing advance-based sidelink group scheduling

Systems and techniques are provided for wireless communications performed at a network entity. For example, the systems and techniques can include obtaining, at the network entity, a target relative time difference (RTD). A transmission timing pre-compensation can be determined at the network entity between a first reference signal and a second reference signal, wherein the transmission timing pre-compensation is determined based on the target RTD and one or more network delay components. The first reference signal and the second reference signal can be transmitted using the transmission timing pre-compensation to offset the first reference signal from the second reference signal by the target RTD.

Systems and techniques for compensation-based secure positioning

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain updated location information, and determine a time difference between a previous communication with a network and a scheduled uplink transmission. Based on the determined time difference, the UE may determine a timing advance (TA) component of a TA value to apply for the uplink transmission, and transmit an uplink message in the uplink transmission according to the determined TA value and the location information. In some examples, the time difference may be based on a first duration between the uplink transmission and a previous uplink transmission, a second duration between the uplink transmission and a previous TA command received from the network, or both. In some examples, the determined TA value may be based on additional parameters, such as an autonomous adjustment step, an aggregate adjustment rate, a scaling factor, or any combination thereof.

Aspects described herein relate to receiving, from a network node, a first transmission for configuring a configured grant, wherein the configured grant allocates one or more resources associated with an uplink transmission process having a transmission process identifier, obtaining a first indication that the network node uses a fallback downlink control information (DCI) format, and modifying, based at least in part on obtaining the first indication and the transmission process identifier, the uplink transmission process. Other aspects relate to configuring a device for modifying the uplink transmission process, receiving uplink communications based on the modified uplink transmission process, and/or the like.

Techniques for communicating over configured grant resources with high round trip times

This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for PDSCH rate-matching in NTN systems. A UE may receive an indication of a subset of one or more SSB beams included in a set of SSB beams having one or more PDCCH resources reserved for potentially scheduling one or more SIBs associated with the set of SSB beams. The UE may further receive a PDSCH associated with resources that overlap with at least a portion of the one or more PDCCH resources associated with the indication of the subset of one or more SSB beams, and rate-match around the one or more PDCCH resources associated with the indication of the subset of one or more SSB beams for receiving the PDSCH.

PDSCH rate-matching in NTN

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus at a UE in NTN are provided. An example method at a UE may include obtaining an indication of a subset of one or more SSB beams included in a set of SSB beams. The example method may further include outputting for transmission or obtaining a communication independent of using any resources associated with SSB transmission via the subset of one or more SSB beams.

The apparatus may be provided to improve a PAPR in at least one of a single-carrier FDM signal or DFT-s-OFDM. The apparatus may be configured to encode a set of information bits with a channel encoder; generate, based on a set of encoded bits from the channel encoder, a set of amplitude symbols using a distribution matching function; generate a set of modulated symbols based on the set of amplitude symbols; and transmit, to a second device, a signal based on the set of modulated symbols.
