An arrangement for role management in relay communication is disclosed. In relay communication, one user equipment relays communication between a base station and at least one remote user equipment. Initially, the relay user equipment has a better signal to a base station. When the signal changes, a better signal channel may be achieved by switching roles between a relay user equipment and a remote user equipment. This includes detecting that a better signal exists and determining that a change would provide a better signal.

Role management in relay communication

An ARQ system for sidelink communication between transmitter and receiver, with the help of cooperative UE, or relay UE is disclosed. The relay intercepts the initial transmission from transmitter to receiver. If the relay does not intercept any ARQ feedback from the receiver (DTX), it retransmits the initial transmission. Upon receiving at least the Sidelink Control Information, SCI, identifying the retransmission, the transmitter terminates the HARQ process, assuming that the relay is now in charge of the retransmission. Upon reception of the retransmission, the receiver feeds back an HARQ ACK to the relay and the transmitter. If the receiver correctly receives the initial transmission, it feeds back an HARQ ACK to the relay and the transmitter and both relay and transmitter stop the HARQ process. If the relay does not successfully receive the initial transmission, it feds back a NACK to the transmitter which performs retransmission to the relay.

SL data transmission for unicast sidelink between user equipments

A system and method for establishing a unicast sidelink communication channel between a source user equipment (UE) and a target UE via a relay UE is described. The source UE sends a relay request message to a potential relay UE. The message includes information to configure a sidelink Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process with feedback enabled. The information also indicates no transport block for HARQ transmissions to the target UE and enables the relay UE to send a sidelink unicast message to the target UE using the source UE's identifier. The relay UE sends a sidelink message without a transport block to the target UE using the configured common HARQ process and resources and subsequently sends a response message to the source UE indicating an outcome of the HARQ process.

Terminal node to terminal node communication

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for identifier (ID)-based inter-user equipment (UE) resource allocation (RA). A method may include receiving, at a first user equipment, a list of identifiers used for communication between a second user equipment and its one or more peer user equipment (UEs). The method may also include obtaining information of a first resource reserved for communication between the second user equipment and its one or more peer user equipment, based on the received list of identifiers. The method may further include determining a second resource for the second user equipment based on the obtained information of the first resource. In addition, the method may include allocating the second resource for sidelink communication of the second user equipment.

Inter-user equipment resource allocation

There is provided an apparatus comprising one or more processors, and one or more memories storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to perform: receiving, by a user equipment, directional probability information comprising a plurality of directions with probabilities, wherein a probability of a direction of the plurality of directions indicates how probable it is that another use equipment is in that direction; and determining beam widths and beamforming directions based on the probabilities.

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for resource collision avoidance in sidelink for discontinuous reception (DRX). For example, certain embodiments described herein may help to ensure a reliable method for reaching a power saving solution for an autonomous resource selection, using a fixed set of rules, based on concepts of sub-pools. This may be done by indicating a set of resources to user equipment (UEs), which may be used for sensing and selection. The resources provided may be offset by a number of resources selected at random, based on UE-identifier, or as otherwise indicated.

Resource collision avoidance in sidelink for discontinuous reception (DRX)

Disclosed is a method for efficient signaling of sidelink radio resources. A first terminal device selects a subset of radio resources from a set of candidate radio resources. The first terminal device determines a set of resource indices for the subset of radio resources based at least partly on a pre-defined enumeration order of the set of candidate radio resources in time and frequency. The first terminal device determines a first resource indication value indicating at least the set of resource indices. The first terminal device transmits the first resource indication value to one or more second terminal devices.

Efficient signaling of sidelink radio resources

Facilitating sidelink mode 2 random selection for support of sidelink DRX

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for configuring a dual-mode SL LCH with simultaneous mode 1 and mode 2 transmission are provided. One method may include configuring one or more dual-mode sidelink (SL) logical channels (LCHs) to at least one user equipment to enable simultaneous sidelink mode 1 and sidelink mode 2 transmission. The method may also include receiving, from the at least one user equipment, at least one sidelink (SL) buffer status report (BSR) that may optionally comprise buffer status for one or more of the configured dual-mode logical channels (LCHs) according to a network configuration, and transmitting, to the at least one user equipment, a resource allocation that can be applied for the dual-mode logical channels (LCHs) according to the network configuration.

Methods and apparatuses to configure a dual-mode sidelink logical channel with simultaneous mode 1 and mode 2 transmission

There is provided an apparatus for a sidelink, SL, communication comprising means for transmitting a transport block, TB, via the SL communication, means for receiving a feedback in response to the transmitted TB, means for storing information contained in the transmitted TB upon receiving said feedback, means for receiving a status report comprising information associated with the TB, and means for comparing said information contained in the status report with said stored information contained in the transmitted TB in order to identify an attacker based on discrepancy between said information contained in the status report and said stored information contained in the transmitted TB.

Detecting sidelink attacks

Apparatus and method for communication are provided. One or more link identifiers used by a first terminal device are obtained. Information on communication of another terminal device with the first terminal device based on the obtained one or more link identifiers is obtained. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of a proactive switch of vehicle-to-everything communication from a device-to-device connection to a connection routed by one or more network devices. In example embodiments, a first terminal device receives, from a second terminal device via a device-to-device connection, an indication of a decision to switch the device-to-device connection to a connection routed by at least one network device for communication with the second terminal device. Based on the received indication from the second terminal device, the first terminal device then determines proactive switching from the device-to-device connection to the routed connection to be performed. The first terminal device then sends a request to a first network device of the at least one network device to set up the routed connection, the request indicating a cause for the determined proactive switching.
