A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle. Responsive to processing at an image processor of a first frame of image data captured by the camera, the system detects a first object exterior of the vehicle, and responsive to processing at the image processor of a second frame of image data captured by the camera, the system detects a second object exterior or the vehicle. The system determines, based on a similarity measure, that the second object is the same as the first object and, responsive to determining that the second object is the same as the first object, using a smoothing filter, modifies the determined second position of the second detected object. The system, based on the modified determined second position of the second detected object relative to the equipped vehicle, updates parameters of the smoothing filter. The system tracks the second detected object.

Vehicular vision system with object detection and identification with adaptive thresholding

A vehicular trailer hitching assist system includes a camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and viewing a hitch ball of a trailer hitch of the vehicle. The system determines a position of the hitch ball within frames of image data, and determines an angle based on a lateral offset distance of the camera relative to the longitudinal centerline of the vehicle and a lateral offset distance of the hitch ball relative to the longitudinal centerline of the vehicle. The system determines height of the hitch ball based on the determined angle and the lateral offset distance of the camera and the lateral offset distance of the hitch ball. The system determines a hitch-ball ground position based on the determined height of the hitch ball. The system utilizes the determined height of the hitch ball and the determined hitch-ball ground position during a hitching maneuver of the vehicle.

A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and capturing image data. The vehicular vision system, via processing at an electronic control unit of a first frame of image data captured by the camera, detects a first object exterior of the vehicle and determines an attribute of the first object. The vehicular vision system, via processing at the electronic control unit of a second frame of image data captured by the camera, detects a second object exterior of the vehicle and determines the attribute of the second object. The system determines whether the first object and the second object are the same object based on a similarity measurement. The vehicular vision system, responsive to determining that the first object and the second object are the same object, merges the attribute of the first object with the attribute of the second object.

A broadcast communication system includes a plurality of transmitter tower stations configured to exchange inter-tower communication (ITC) signals to support a wireless ITC network (ITCN). Each TTS includes a transmitter (Tx) antenna, at least one receiver (Rx) antenna, and an ITCN server configured to form outgoing ITC signals for transmitting with the Tx antenna and to process incoming ITC signals received with the at least one Rx antenna. Each of the TTSs is configured to multiplex outgoing ITC signals with broadcast services signals prior to the transmitting and to detect the incoming ITC signals in a wireless signal received with the at least one Rx antenna. Several ITCN-integrating broadcast systems operating in a same or different frequency band may be interconnected to support an integrated inter-tower wireless communication network.

A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and capturing image data. The system, via processing at an electronic control unit (ECU) of image data captured by the camera, detects an object at a first orientation relative to camera. A first local binary pattern represents in binary form a first portion of the image data that includes the detected object. The system detects the object at a second orientation relative to camera. A second local binary pattern represents in binary form a second portion of the image data that includes the detected object. The second orientation is different from the first orientation and the second local binary pattern is different than the first local binary pattern. The system groups the first and second local binary patterns into a common histogram bin. The system classifies the detected object based at least in part on the common histogram bin.

A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle. Responsive to image processing at an ECU of captured frames of image data, the vehicular vision system detects an object present in a field of view of the camera. As the vehicle moves relative to the detected object, captured frames of image data are processed to determine a point of interest, present in multiple captured frames of image data, on the detected object. The vehicular vision system, via processing of captured frames of image data as the vehicle moves relative to the detected object, and based on the determined point of interest present in multiple captured frames of image data, estimates a location in three dimensional space of the determined point of interest and determines distance to the determined point of interest on the detected object.

A vehicular trailer hitching assist system includes a camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and having a field of view exterior of the vehicle, the field of view encompassing at least a portion of a trailer rearward of the vehicle. The camera captures image data representative of the trailer rearward of the vehicle. A control includes a processor operable to process image data captured by the camera. The control, responsive to processing of image data captured by the camera, detects a trailer hitch coupler of the trailer rearward of the vehicle. The control, responsive to detecting the trailer hitch coupler, estimates an initial height and an initial location of the detected trailer hitch coupler. The ECU tracks the position of the trailer hitch coupler in subsequent frames and the ECU selects a current frame and a previous frame of captured image data to refine the initial height.

A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle and viewing forward of the vehicle. The vehicular vision system, responsive at least in part to image processing of multiple frames of captured image data, detects an object present exterior of the vehicle that is moving relative to the vehicle. The system, when the vehicle is moving, and based at least in part to received vehicle motion data indicative of motion of the vehicle when the vehicle is moving and image processing of multiple frames of captured image data, (i) estimates object trajectory of the detected object based at least in part on corresponding object features present in multiple frames of image data captured by the camera and (ii) determines motion of the detected object relative to the moving vehicle based on the estimated object trajectory.

A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle and viewing forward of the vehicle. The control, responsive at least in part to image processing by an image processor of multiple frames of captured image data, detects an object present exterior of the equipped vehicle that is moving relative to the equipped vehicle. The control receives vehicle motion data indicative of motion of the vehicle when the vehicle is moving. The control, responsive at least in part to the received vehicle motion data, and via image processing of multiple frames of captured image data, determines motion of the detected object relative to the moving vehicle by (i) determining corresponding object points in at least two frames of captured image data and (ii) estimating object motion trajectory of the detected object based at least in part on the determined corresponding object points.

A method for determining objects of interest using a vehicular vision system includes providing at least one camera and providing a control having an image processor that processes image data captured by the camera. An object present in the field of view of the camera is detected via processing at the control of a first frame of captured image data. Hypotheses filtering and hypotheses merging may be utilized when processing additional frames of captured image data to discern the detected object being an object of interest from the detected object being not an object of interest. Hypotheses filtering includes tracking the detected object over multiple additional frames of captured image data, and hypotheses merging includes comparing outputs of hypotheses filtering for the multiple additional frames of captured image data. The detected object may be determined to be an object of interest responsive to results of hypotheses merging.

Object detection using vehicular vision system

A method for estimating distance to an object via a vehicular vision system includes disposing a camera at a vehicle so as to view at least exterior of the vehicle. An ECU is provided that includes an image processor. Multiple frames of image data are captured via the camera while the vehicle is moving, and are provided to the ECU. The provided captured frames of image data are processed to determine a three dimensional object present in a field of view of the camera, and a point of interest is determined on the determined object. An estimated location in three dimensional space of the determined point of interest relative to the vehicle is determined, and distance to the estimated location is estimated by comparing provided captured frames of image data where there is movement of the determined point of interest of the determined object relative to the camera.

Method for estimating distance to an object via a vehicular vision system

A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and viewing exterior of the vehicle. A control has an image processor for processing frames of image data captured by the camera. The control receives vehicle motion data indicative of motion of the vehicle when the vehicle is moving. When the vehicle is moving, the control, responsive at least in part to image processing of multiple frames of captured image data, detects an object present exterior of the vehicle. The control, responsive at least in part to the received vehicle motion data and image processing of multiple frames of captured image data, determines motion of the detected object relative to the moving vehicle by (i) determining corresponding object points in at least two frames of captured image data and (ii) estimating object motion trajectory of the detected object based at least in part on the determined corresponding object points.

A primary transmitter of a multicast communication system transmits in-band backhaul to a relay transmitter using an LDM signal that also carries services to end-users. The relay transmitter processes received wireless signal to extract the in-band backhaul and re-transmits services obtained from the in-band backhaul in same or different frequency channel. The in-band backhaul may be transmitted in a high-capacity layer of the LDM signal carrying or in a separate timeslot. Transmitter-specific signature signals may be used for loopback and forward channel estimation at the relay transmitter. The in-band backhaul may also carry service data for devices in a different network.

A vision system of a vehicle includes at least one camera configured to be disposed at a vehicle so as to have a field of view exterior of the vehicle. Responsive to image processing of captured image data and with the at least one camera disposed at the vehicle, the image processor determines a three dimensional object present in the field of view of the camera and determines a point of interest on the determined object. The vision system uses triangulation to determine an estimated location in three dimensional space of the determined point of interest. The vision system processes additional frames of captured image data to enhance the estimation of the location in three dimensional space of the determined point of interest. The image processor is operable to estimate a distance to the determined object by comparing multiple frames of captured image data.

Vehicle vision system with 3D registration for distance estimation

A method for detecting a vehicle via a vehicular vision system includes equipping a vehicle with a camera and providing a control at the equipped vehicle. Frames of image data captured by the camera are processed via an image processor of the control. Responsive at least in part to (i) vehicle motion information of the equipped vehicle and (ii) processing at the control of frames of image data captured by the camera, an object present in the field of view of the camera is detected and motion of the detected vehicle relative to the moving equipped vehicle is determined. The motion of the detected object relative to the moving equipped vehicle is determined by (i) determining corresponding feature points of the detected object in at least two frames of captured image data and (ii) estimating object motion trajectory of the detected object based on the determined corresponding feature points.
