A cathode includes a current collector, a first material layer and a second material layer. The first material layer includes a first material. The second material layer includes a second material. The second material includes at least one of the followings compounds: phosphate represented by a general formula M1POand lithium titanium phosphate represented by a general formula LiTiM2(PO), and the second material layer is disposed between the current collector and the first material layer. The cathode of the present application is provided with a double-layer structure including at least one of phosphate and lithium titanium phosphate to avoid direct contact between the current collector in the cathode and an anode material layer and optimize the stability of the first material layer, so that the cycle performance, electrochemical stability and safety performance of the electrochemical device are significantly improved.

This application relates to a metal oxide and a method for preparing the same. Specifically, CoOis selected as a precursor of lithium cobalt oxide, and one or more metal elements M are doped in the particles of CoOto obtain a doped lithium cobalt oxide precursor CoMO, where 0&#x3c;x&#x2264;0.3. The difference value, measured by a spectrometer of a scanning electron microscope, of the weight percentage of one of M in two identical area regions is E, wherein 0&#x3c;E&#x2264;1% (wt. %). A lithium ion battery with lithium cobalt oxide prepared from the precursor as a cathode material shows great cycle stability, high-temperature energy storage performance and safety performance in a high-voltage (equal to or greater than 4.45 V) charging and discharging environment.

The present application relates to a metal oxide and synthesis of a lithium ion battery. Specifically, the present application selects a cobalt oxide compound, which uses CoOas a main body, as a precursor of lithium cobalt oxide, and anion doping is performed in particles of CoOto obtain a doped precursor for lithium cobalt oxide. The general formula of the precursor can be expressed as Co(OM), where about 0&#x3c;y&#x3c;about 0.2, and wherein the anion M comprises at least one of F, P, S, Cl, N, As, Se, Br, Te, I or At. The lithium ion battery with a cathode made of lithium cobalt oxide material prepared by using the precursor presents good cycle stability in a high voltage charge-discharge environment.

Metal oxide and synthesis of lithium ion battery

The present invention relates to the field of the Li-ion battery and, particularly, relates to a cathode material for the Li-ion battery, a method for preparing the same and a Li-ion battery containing the same. A surface of the cathode material of spinel type lithium-manganese-nickel-containing composite oxide of the present invention is coated with a complex coating layer composed of a first coating layer containing LiLaZrOand a second coating layer containing LiNbO. The method includes: firstly coating the first coating layer containing LiLaZrOon the surface of spinel type lithium-manganese-nickel-containing composite oxide in a solid phase method; and then coating the second coating layer containing LiNbOin a hydro-thermal method. The cathode material of the present invention improves cycle stability and rate performance of spinel type lithium-manganese-nickel-containing composite oxide, and meanwhile reduces dissolution and erosion effect of the electrolyte on the cathode material during charging or discharging.
