A backlight module includes a light guide plate (LGP) and a light emitting unit. The LGP has a first surface, a second surface, a light incident surface, a first curved convex surface, a first plane, a second curved convex surface and a second plane. The first surface has a visual area. The second surface is opposite to the first surface. The light incident surface, the first curved convex surface, the first plane, the second curved convex surface, and the second plane connects the first surface and the second surface. The light incident surface connects the first plane and the second plane. The light emitting unit is disposed beside the light incident surface for emitting a light beam, wherein the light beam is capable of entering the LGP through the light incident surface, and being transmitted out of the LGP through the visual area of the first surface.

Backlight module

A backlight module includes a light guide plate, a reflecting unit, two light emitting units, and two light absorbing units. The light guide plate has a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and two light incident surfaces connecting the first surface and the second surface. The two light incident surfaces are respectively located at two adjacent corners of the light guide plate. The reflecting unit is disposed on the second surface. The two light emitting units are respectively disposed beside the two light incident surfaces. Light beams emitted by the two light emitting units are capable of entering the light guide plate respectively through the two light incident surfaces and being transmitted out of the light guide plate through the first surface. The light absorbing units are disposed between the second surface and the reflecting unit and are respectively adjacent to the two light incident surfaces.

A light guide plate includes a transparent substrate and a plurality of micro structures. The transparent substrate has a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, and the micro structures are disposed at least on the first surface of the transparent substrate and are separate from each other. Each of the micro structures includes a first coating layer and a second coating layer. The first coating layer is formed on the first surface and includes an adhesive material. The second coating layer is formed on at least a part of the first coating layer and includes a light-diffusing material.

Light guide plate and backlight module

A light guide plate (LGP) including a first surface, a second surface, a light incident surface and a plurality of optical micro-structures is provided. The first surface is opposite to the second surface. The light incident surface connects the first surface and the second surface. The optical micro-structures are disposed on the second surface and include a plurality of round protrusive points and a plurality of curved protrusions. The curved protrusions are disposed among the round protrusive points. Each of the curved protrusions has a first arc side and a second arc side opposite to the first arc side, and an indentation of the first arc side and an indentation of the second arc side are substantially towards a same direction. In addition, a backlight module employing the above-mentioned LGP is also provided.
