In non-limiting examples of the present disclosure, systems, methods and devices for initiating and managing electronic focus sessions are provided. A focus session window may be displayed. The focus session window may comprise a timer pane comprising a focus session duration input element; a task pane comprising an identity of at least one task object created by a task management application; a music pane comprising an identity of at least one music playlist; and/or a daily progress pane that includes a goal display element indicating a duration of time spent in focus sessions for a current day. An indication to initiate a focus session may be received. The initiating may comprise causing a timer for the duration of time to be initiated and displayed in the timer pane and causing one of the music playlists to be automatically played.

Electronic focus sessions

Disclosed herein is a system configured to provide a connected focus time experience that spans multiple different devices. The connected focus time experience is enabled via an account the user leverages to log into the multiple different devices. For instance, when the user has configured a focus mode for a focus session on a first device (e.g., a laptop device) into which the user is logged via the account, the account can be then used to identify a second device (e.g., a smartphone device) into which the user is also logged via the account. Consequently, an instruction can be provided to configure the focus mode for the focus session on the second device. The focus mode prevents notifications from being output during the focus session, so user distractions and interruptions can be avoided or limited.

Connected focus time experience that spans multiple devices

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for determining column ordering of a data storage table for search optimization are described herein. In some examples, a computing system is configured to receive input containing statistics of a plurality of queries. The computing system can then determine a new column order (i.e., layout) based at least in part on the statistics. In some example techniques described herein, the computing system can determine the new column order based at least in part on the hardware components storing the data storage table, storage system parameters, and/or user preference information. Example techniques described herein can apply the new column order to data subsequently added to the data storage table. Example techniques described herein can apply the new column order to existing data in the data storage table.

Column ordering for input/output optimization in tabular data

A foldable computing device with multiple display regions repositions UI components of an application. A repositioned UI component may be easier to access, discover, and manipulate. In some configurations, a UI component is repositioned to be closer to the thumbs of a user holding the device. In other configurations, a UI component is repositioned to avoid inter-region gestures. In other configurations, a UI component is repositioned to a location that is less likely to move or shift the device by the physical force of touching the component. A content optimization engine may determine whether to reposition a UI component based on a number of factors, including a posture of the device, a size of the component, a complexity of user interaction needed to use the component, how often the component is used, etc.

Optimizing content layout on a foldable device

The disclosed technology executes a next operation in a set of associated application windows. A first application window and a second application window are added to the set. A first context is generated from content from the first application window. A selection of the content is detected from first application window. The first context is communicated as input to the second application window, responsive to detecting the selection. The next operation in the second application window is executed using the first context as input to the next operation, responsive to communicating the first context.

Inter-application context seeding

Methods and devices for initiating application and system modal control of a computer device based on predicted locations of a hand outside of a field of view using a computer device are disclosed. The method includes receiving hand motion information from a hand positional tracking system that tracks a position of a hand of a user. The method also includes determining the hand is outside a field of view of the computer device based on the hand motion information. The method further includes predicting a location of the hand while outside the field of view. The method also includes interacting with a secondary UX on the display based on the predicted location of the hand.

Disclosed herein are tools and techniques for using a single-finger single touch to zoom content. In one embodiment disclosed herein, a single-finger single touch on a touch screen displaying at least a page of content is detected. At least in response to the detecting the single-finger single touch, a page zoom is performed.

Automatic zooming for text selection/cursor placement

A user interface suited for use on mobile devices for entering characters which may require one or more modifiers is disclosed. The interface may be implemented utilizing a touch screen interface on which a user engages the interface, is provided feedback, and removes the user's touch to enter a character. The interface presents a series of main, supplemental and modifier keys. Touching an interface button or main key presents a series of 'petals' or supplemental keys emanating from the main key. Each petal or supplemental key may in turn present one or more sub petals or modifier keys emanating from the supplemental key. Each petal or sub-petal may represent another character or a modifier action. The characters and/or actions on the supplemental keys and modifier keys provide options for characters or modifiers which are dependent or related to the main input key.

A web browser has a user interface that includes a content rendering area within the web browser user interface and a control layout area adjacent the content rendering area. The control layout area includes a user-selectable icon that is always available to the user in the control layout area and which is user-configurable. Embodiments provide context-aware inclusion of emoticon item sets in applications and/or services. The emoticon item sets include a plurality of emoticon images or other emoticons. A computing device creates custom emoticon item sets for each of the applications. Based on a determined execution context, the computing device selects the emoticon item set and presents the selected emoticon item set for use within the execution context by a user of the computing device.
