A driving method for LCD panels is disclosed, wherein the driver circuit includes multiple data line drivers and at least two gate line drivers, and the first gate line driver produces a normal image with sequential line scanning starting from the beginning of a frame, and the second gate line driver produces a dimmed image starting from a predetermined number of lines below at the same time to emulate one full sweep across a CRT. Therefore, a dimmed image is inserted into every digitized image, where a dimmed image is defined to be a digitized image with each pixel having a fraction 1/N of the original pixel value. The LCD panel drive using this driving method achieves performance closer to the impulse approach used in CRT displays, and the flickering phenomenon can be significantly rectified.

Driving method for LCD panel

The present invention relates to a driving circuit of a liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof. The method includes receiving a M-bit image data from an image data input terminal and extracting N most significant bits (MSB)of the M-bit image data to form a N-bit image data. The N-bit image data is delayed by one frame period to form a N-bit delayed image data. The N-bit delayed image data is compared with P MSB of a current M-bit image data to determine whether to generate a first data voltage according to a first image value selected from a reference table, or to generate a second data voltage according to the current M-bit image data.

Driving circuit of a liquid crystal display and driving method thereof

Disclosed is a method for driving pixels of an LCD device, wherein an overlapping area between a data line connected to a data driver and a gate line connected to a gate driver defines a pixel of an LCD device. A first gate driver is selected from the LCD device' at least two gate drivers based on a selection rule. Starting from a line A, the first gate driver displays a part of a picture image by sequentially displaying the image line by line up to a number of lines according to a pre-determined display range. Then a second gate driver based on the selection rule displays a part of an all black image by displaying, from a line B, a number of lines based on a pre-determined display range simultaneously. The line B is separated from the line A by a number of lines according to a pre-determined gap range.

Method for driving LCD device

A driving method of a liquid crystal display (LCD) includes (a) measuring reaction curves of LCD panel pixels switching from any gray scale value to others within a frame period and generating a standard table according to the results, (b) measuring adjustment gray scale values of any gray scale values for different gammas, (c) generating a plurality of tables according to the adjustment gray scale values and the standard table, (d) applying scan voltages to the scan lines, (e) receiving image data from an image signal terminal, (f) delaying the image data for a frame period to generate delayed image data, (g) selecting a table from the standard table and the tables according to gamma, and (h) selecting an image data value from the selected table according to the current and delayed image data to generate a data line voltage to be applied on a corresponding data line.
