The disclosure provides a method performed by a base station. The method comprises, when the base station is acting as a source base station for handover of a wireless device to a target base station: preparing a handover message for transmission to the target base station, the handover message comprising an indication of an identity associated with a set of capabilities of the wireless device; and causing the handover message to be transmitted to the target base station. The step of preparing the handover message comprises selectively including the set of capabilities of the wireless device in the handover message based on one or more criteria.

Reducing signalling overhead in handover preparation

A method for inter-Radio Access Technology (RAT) handover comprises preparing, at a target node, a reconfiguration message based on that the target node is inter-RAT and intra-system to a source node, and sending, to the source node, the reconfiguration message for forwarding the reconfiguration message to a user equipment (UE). The reconfiguration message comprises configuration for reconfiguring lower layer at the UE and further keeps the UE from reconfiguring upper-layer configuration. The target node disclosed in the method prepares a reconfiguration message specific to different types of RAT combination and system between the source node and the target node to provide loss-less and in-order data delivery during and after the handover.

Method for inter-radio access technology handover

A method, network node and wireless device for an overheating configuration in NG EN-DC are disclosed. According to one aspect, a wireless device configured to communicate with a master node configured to operate using a first radio access technology, RAT, and to communicate a secondary node configured to operate using a second RAT is provided. The wireless device is configured to determine an overheating configuration for the wireless device, and indicate the overheating configuration using at least: a first indication associated with both the first RAT operation and second RAT operation; and a second indication associated with only one of the first RAT operation and second RAT operation.

Overheating configuration in (NG) EN-DC

A Master Node (MN)and a method therein for handling of a Secondary Cell Group (SCG) for a UEoperable in a dual connectivity mode with the MN and a Secondary Node (SN)operating in a network. A Master Cell Group (MCG) is 5 associated with the MN and the SCG is associated with the SN. The MN decides to perform a first operation relating to a suspension or a resumption of the SCG independently from a second operation relating to a suspension or a resumption of the MCG. The MN transmits, to the UE, an indication indicating the first operation and indicating the second operation. Further, the MN transmits, to the SN, an indicationindicating the first operation relating to the suspension or the resumption of the SCG.

Master node, a secondary node, a user equipment and methods therein for handling of a secondary cell group (SCG)

Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) to perform measurements on a secondary cell group (SCG) in a wireless network while the SCG is suspended. Such methods include receiving, from a network node in the wireless network, a message including an indication that the SCG should be suspended and/or a first SCG measurement configuration to be used while the SCG is suspended. Such methods include suspending the SCG in response to the message, and performing measurements on the suspended SCG according to: the first SCG measurement configuration, when the first SCG measurement configuration was included in the message; or a second SCG measurement configuration applicable before the SCG was suspended, when the first SCG measurement configuration was not included in the message. Embodiments also include complementary methods for a network node, as well as UEs and network nodes configured to perform such methods.

Early measurement reporting of suspended secondary cell group (SCG)

A method for a handover procedure comprises establishing a connection with a source network node of a first core network; receiving a radio resource control (RRC) message including an information element, wherein the information element indicates a second core network associated with a target network node; applying security parameters based on the second core network indicated in the information element; and performing a handover toward the target network node using the applied security parameters. The method provides an indication in RRC connection reconfiguration procedure to indicate the UE the core network of the target network node, so that the UE may recognize that this is an inter-system handover and apply corresponding security parameters for performing the handover without additional signaling.

Methods in a radio network node are provided in which the radio network node receives, from a network node, first wireless device capability information associated with a wireless device, determines second wireless device capability information required by the radio network node, and sends, to the wireless device, a request for capability information. Wireless device capability filters in wireless communication networks

A method performed by a User Equipment, UE, for handling a Secondary Cell Group, SCG, configuration in a wireless communications network is provided. The UE receives () from a network node, an SCG configuration and a trigger condition related to the signal quality of a cell associated with the SCG configuration. The UE then performs () signal quality measurements of a cell associated with the SCG configuration. When the trigger condition of the cell is fulfilled according to the received SCG configuration, the UE applies () the SCG configuration associated to the cell fulfilling the trigger condition.

Handling a secondary cell group configuration

Methods and apparatus are provided for handover of a UE from a source node connected to a first core network to a target node connected to a second core network. The UE receives, from the source node, a mobility command including an indication of the radio access technology (RAT) used by the target node and a message container containing configuration information for the target node. The UE further determines, based on the indication of the RAT used by the target node, whether to treat the handover as an inter-RAT handover or as an intra-RAT handover with a core network change, and performs a radio resource control procedure for one of an inter-RAT handover or an intra-RAT handover with a core network change based on the determination.

Intra-RAT handovers with core network change

A radio network equipment central unit () receives a message () that indicates an update to a transport layer address of a radio network equipment distributed unit () from an old transport layer address (A) to a new transport layer address (B). The message () indicates the old transport layer address (A) and indicates the new transport layer address (B). The message () may be received from the radio network equipment distributed unit (), or from a distributed unit of an integrated access backhaul donor. Regardless, for each of multiple user plane bearers or transport layer tunnels that are associated with the old transport layer address (A), the radio network equipment central unit () may update a transport layer address of that bearer or tunnel from the old transport layer address (A) to the new transport layer address (B).

Transport layer handling for split radio network architecture

Embodiments include methods, performed by a master node (MN) in a radio access network, for establishing radio resources between a secondary node (SN) and a user equipment (UE). Such embodiments include sending, to the SN, a request identifying one or more QoS flows to be setup between the SN and the UE; and receiving, from the SN, a response including identification of one or more radio bearers that were admitted by the SN in association with the requested QoS flows. Such embodiments also include sending, to the SN, identifiers of one or more tunnels for forwarding downlink user-plane (DL UP) data over an interface between the SN and the MN. Each tunnel identifier is associated with a respective admitted radio bearer. Embodiments also include complementary methods performed by a SN, as well as network nodes configured to perform the various methods.

Tunnel setup for split bearers in multi-rat dual connectivity (MR-DC) and NR-NR dual connectivity (NR-DC)

Methods and apparatus are provided for handover of a UE () from a source node () connected to a first core network () to a target node () connected to a second core network (). A method performed by a User Equipment (UE) for handling multiple Secondary Cell Group (SCG) configurations in a wireless communications network is provided. The UE receives () from a network node: a first SCG configuration of a first Secondary Node, SN, and an indication of whether or not the first SCG is to be configured as active or inactive, and a second SCG configuration of a second SN, and an indication of whether or not the second SCG is to be configured as active or inactive. The multiple SCG configurations comprises at least the first SCG configuration and the second SCG configuration. The UE then decides () whether to handle each respective SCG configuration out of the multiple SCG configurations according to a first option or a second option based on its respective indication. The first option comprises when one or more out of the respective multiple SCG configurations are indicated to be configured as inactive, storing () that particular SCG configuration. The second option comprises when one or more out of the respective multiple SCG configurations are indicated to be configured as active, activating () that particular SCG configuration in the UE.
