The present invention relates to a method of depositing a coating comprising zinc oxide on a substrate; to a chemical vapour deposition precursor mixture for use in same and to a coated glass article and a photovoltaic cell prepared with a zinc oxide coating prepared using the method which comprises: providing a substrate, providing a precursor mixture comprising an alkyl zinc compound and a phosphorus source, the phosphorus source comprising a compound of formula OP(OR), wherein n is 0 or 1 and each R is hydrocarbyl, and delivering the precursor mixture to a surface of the substrate.

Method for depositing a coating

A process for depositing on a surface of a substrate a layer based on a metal oxide doped with magnesium or a mixed metal oxide containing magnesium. The process includes providing a substrate having a surface, forming a gaseous mixture comprising a non-halogenated source of a metal and a source of magnesium, delivering the gaseous mixture to the surface of the substrate, and depositing the layer based on a metal oxide doped with magnesium or a mixed metal oxide containing magnesium on the surface of the substrate.

Process for depositing a layer

Bird collisions with windows or other glazings are minimized or prevented with a glazing comprising as least one substrate with a UV reflectance coating deposited over the substrate in a patterned arrangement comprised of a plurality of stripes, and each of the plurality of stripes has a thickness that changes by 10 nm or less over every 1 mm in width. Such an arrangement of stripes having soft edges are less apparent, and thus more aesthetically pleasing, when compared with a similar arrangement of stripes formed with hard edges, while providing an effective deterrent to bird collisions. The glazing may also be utilized as part of a laminated glazing or insulated glazing unit. A method of manufacturing the glazing is also provided.
