Provided, in one aspect, is a method for performing a rock core flow performance test. The method, in this aspect, includes containing un-cured cement within an in-situ cement curing test fixture. The method additionally includes placing the in-situ cement curing test fixture with the un-cured cement within a pressure vessel of a rock core flow test system, and subjecting the in-situ cement curing test fixture with the un-cured cement within the pressure vessel to non-ambient temperature or pressure to form in-situ cured cement.

Method and apparatus for in situ cement curing

Wellbore pressure surge simulation systems, methods to perform pressure surge simulations, and methods to configure pressure surge simulation systems are disclosed. A wellbore pressure surge simulation system includes a core chamber configured to store a core sample of a downhole formation inside the core chamber. The wellbore pressure surge simulation system also includes a fluid chamber that is fluidly connected to the core chamber and having a first compartment that is configured to store a first fluid and a second compartment that is configured to store a second fluid. The wellbore pressure surge simulation system further includes a wellbore chamber positioned adjacent to the core chamber and configured to store the first fluid. The wellbore pressure surge simulation system further includes a flow restrictor configured to restrict fluid flow from the wellbore chamber.

Wellbore pressure surge simulation systems, methods to perform surge simulations, and methods to configure pressure surge simulation systems

Methods to determine pressure distribution along a downhole formation and methods to determine a recipe for materials used in a wellbore are disclosed. A method to determine pressure distribution along a downhole formation includes overlaying a pressure film on a formation sample of a downhole formation. The method also includes inserting cement, the pressure film and the formation sample in a pressure vessel. The method further includes utilizing the pressure vessel to perform one or more tests of the formation sample. After performing the one or more tests, the method further includes analyzing the pressure film to determine a pressure distribution along the formation sample.
