A system and method provides video recommendations for a target video in a video sharing environment. The system selects one or more videos that are on one or more video playlists together with the target video. The video co-occurrence data of the target video associates the target video and another video on one or more same video playlists and frequency of the target video and another video on the video playlists is computed. Based on the video co-occurrence data of the target video, one or more co-occurrence videos are selected and ranked based on the video co-occurrence data of the target video. The system selects one or more videos from the co-occurrence videos as video recommendations for the target video.

Techniques described herein include receiving a first video frame including a first color map, receiving at least one second video frame, receiving a third video frame including a second color map, generating at least one color map based on the first color map and the second color map, associating the at least one third color map with the at least one second frame, the associated at least one second frame being sequentially positioned between the first frame and the second frame, tone correcting the associated at least one second frame based on the at least one generated third color map and color correcting the at least one second frame based on the at least one generated third color map.

Techniques described herein include capturing a plurality of frames associated with a video file, capturing an image corresponding to one of the plurality of frames, generating a color map between the captured image and a corresponding frame of the plurality of frames, where the color map is based on a color and a tone of the captured image and a color and tone of the corresponding frame, tone correcting one or more selected frames associated with the video file based on the color map, and color correcting the one or more selected frames based on the color map.

A method includes presenting a list of one or more videos via a user interface, receiving a selection of a target video to watch from the list, playing the target video in the user interface, and updating the user interface to present one or more suggested videos concurrently with playback of the target video. The one or more suggested videos are predicted to be watched by a user for at least a threshold duration.

Use of user consumption time to rank media suggestions

A system receives a user request for a media item and identifies candidate media items for suggesting to the user with the media item. The system predicts a user consumption time for each candidate media item and selects a sub-set of the candidate media items that have higher predicted user consumption times. The system provides the requested media item with the sub-set of the candidate media items.
