A microfluidic electrochemical device and process are detailed that provide chemical imaging and electrochemical analysis under vacuum at the surface of the electrode-sample or electrode-liquid interface in-situ. The electrochemical device allows investigation of various surface layers including diffuse layers at selected depths populated with, e.g., adsorbed molecules in which chemical transformation in electrolyte solutions occurs.

An apparatus and system are disclosed for a fitness stick. The apparatus includes an elongated rod, a first track, and a second track. The elongated rod has a center point, a first end, and a second end. The first track extends helically away from the center point along an outer surface of the elongated rod toward the first end. The second track extends helically away from the center point along the outer surface of the elongated rod toward the second end. The first track extends helically around the outer surface of the elongated rod in a first rotational direction and the second track extends helically around the outer surface of the elongated rod in a second rotational direction. The second rotational direction is opposite from the first rotational direction.

Apparatus, system, and method for a fitness stick

System and methods are provided for analyzing and displaying digital content and advertisements over electronic networks. In accordance with one implementation, a method is provided that calculates, using at least one processor, an engagement metric (including, for example, click probability) for a specific combination of time, promotion slot, and user segment, for an individual promotion of a set of promotions, and calculates a value of a landing page associated with the promotion. The method then can multiply the engagement metric and the value to determine the valuation of the promotion. The method can operate recursively by using previous calculations in later runs of the same method.

In an embodiment, a method for manufacturing a thin layer chromatography ('TLC') plate is disclosed. The method includes forming a layer of elongated nanostructures (e.g., carbon nanotubes), and at least partially coating the elongated nanostructures with a coating. The coating includes a stationary phase and/or precursor of a stationary phase for use in chromatography. The stationary phase may be functionalized with hydroxyl groups by exposure to acidified water vapor or immersion in a concentrated acid bath (e.g., HCl and methanol). At least a portion of the elongated nanostructures may be removed after being coated. Embodiments for TLC plates and related methods are also disclosed.

Systems and methods for supporting a liquid against a vacuum pressure in a chamber can enable analysis of the liquid surface using vacuum-based chemical analysis instruments. No electrical or fluid connections are required to pass through the chamber walls. The systems can include a reservoir, a pump, and a liquid flow path. The reservoir contains a liquid-phase sample. The pump drives flow of the sample from the reservoir, through the liquid flow path, and back to the reservoir. The flow of the sample is not substantially driven by a differential between pressures inside and outside of the liquid flow path. An aperture in the liquid flow path exposes a stable portion of the liquid-phase sample to the vacuum pressure within the chamber. The radius, or size, of the aperture is less than or equal to a critical value required to support a meniscus of the liquid-phase sample by surface tension.

Systems and methods for analyzing liquids under vacuum

The present invention relates to methods for the treatment of inflammation. Specifically, disclosed herein are methods to inhibit vascular inflammatory responses by inhibiting the proton-sensing GPR4 receptor. Such methods can be utilized, most preferably, in pharmaceutical compositions to modulate inflammation in acidosis-related diseases.

An apparatus and system are disclosed for a fitness stick. The apparatus includes an elongated rod having a center point, a first end, and a second end. The apparatus also includes a first track connected with the rod and extending helically away from the center point along an outer surface of the elongated rod toward the first end, and a second track connected with the rod and extending helically away from the center point along an outer surface of the elongated rod toward the second end. Any point along the second track is reflectively symmetrical to a corresponding point on the first track about a central plane extending through the center point and orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the elongated rod. The system includes the apparatus, first and second hand-slides, and a resistance band coupling the first hand-slide with the second hand-slide.
