The invention provides a composite separator and an electrochemical device such as a battery with the composite separator. The composite separator includes at least one metal-organic framework (MOF) composite layer, and at least one porous layer serving a mechanical support for the at least one MOF composite layer. The at least one MOF composite layer includes at least one MOF material defining a plurality of pore channels and at least one polymer. The at least one MOF material is a class of crystalline porous scaffolds constructed from metal clusters with organic ligands and is activated at a temperature for a period of time such that the at least one MOF material includes unsaturated metal centers, open metal sites and/or structural defects that are able to complex with anions in electrolyte.

Metal-organic-framework (MOF) coated composite separators for electrochemical devices and applications of same

The invention relates to a method for fabricating a regenerative polysulfide-scavenging layer (RSL). The method includes embedding nanowires or nanocrystals of metal oxides with a membrane of carbon nanotubes (CNTs); and forming the RSL with the embedded nanowires or nanocrystals of the metal oxides and the membrane, so as to enable lithium-sulfur batteries with high energy density and prolonged cycling life. The invention also relates to a lithium-sulfur battery that contains the RSL.

Systems, vehicles, and methods for controlling light are provided. In an exemplary embodiment a vehicle with a cabin includes a light senor positioned within the vehicle, where the light sensor is configured to send a light intensity signal. A lamp module is positioned within the vehicle, where the light sensor is in communication with lamp module. The lamp module is configured to trigger a darkness lighting scheme when the light intensity signal is at about a darkness set value or less. A lamp is positioned within the cabin, where the lamp is in communication with the lamp module. The lamp is configured to emit a darkness spectrum when the lamp is activated and when the lamp module triggers the darkness lighting scheme. The darkness spectrum has a maximum illumination wavelength less than about 555 nanometers.

Methods and systems for controlling light

An electrolyte structure includes a metal organic framework (MOF) material defining a plurality of pores. Anions are bound to respective metal atoms of the MOF material. The bound anions are located within each of the plurality of pores of the MOF material. Solvated cations are present within each of the plurality of pores.

Electrolyte structure for metal batteries

An on-vehicle three-dimensional video system is provided for a vehicle and a method is provided for monitoring a surrounding environment of a vehicle. The on-vehicle three-dimensional video system includes, but is not limited to cameras, a display screen, a control module, and a power supply device. The cameras are provided in pairs for filming the surrounding environment of the vehicle from different angles, and the display screen is able to bring about a three-dimensional video effect according to pairs of video signals from the cameras. With the on-vehicle three-dimensional video system, a realistic three-dimensional output of the surrounding environment of the vehicle is realized on the display screen so that the driver can clearly know about the precise relative position of a corresponding portion of the vehicle with respect to the surrounding environment.
