A liquid crystal display (LCD) driving apparatus and the method thereof is disclosed. The method receives a pixel and drives a pixel of the LCD according to the pixel value in a frame period, wherein the frame period is divided into a precharge field and a compensation field. Firstly, a precharge pixel value is decided according to the pixel and a reference value. A compensation pixel value is decided according to the precharge pixel. Next, a precharge driving voltage is determined according to the precharge pixel value. Afterwards, a compensation driving voltage is determined according to the compensation pixel value. Finally, the pixel is driven according to the precharge driving voltage and the compensation driving voltage respectively during the precharge field and the compensation field.

Liquid crystal display driving apparatus and method thereof

A scaling-up control method and a scaling-up control apparatus are used in a display device. The display device includes a scaler for converting an original image signal into an output image signal by performing a linear interpolation. Moreover, by utilizing a global locking mechanism and a local locking mechanism to perform the linear interpolation to determine the actual position of the interpolated pixel, the position error of the pixel position is largely reduced. Since the difference between the calculated pixel value and the ideal pixel value is reduced, the imaging quality of the output image signal is enhanced.

Scaling-up control method and scaling-up control apparatus for use in display device

A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof. The liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal display panel, a backlight module, a dimming control unit and a backlight module driving circuit. The liquid crystal display panel has a first display area and a second display area. The backlight module includes a plurality of lighting devices respectively corresponding to pixels in the first display area and the second display area. The dimming control unit generates at least one dimming control signal having a dimming frequency which is a multiple of a frame rate of the liquid crystal display panel. The backlight module driving circuit periodically drives the lighting devices in sequence according to the dimming control signal.

Liquid crystal display and driving method thereof

A display is provided. The display includes a first timing controller, a second timing controller and drivers. The first timing controller receives and transmits a first portion of pixel values, in which the first portion of the pixel values includes the pixel values of at least two non-adjacent pixels. The second timing controller receives and transmits a second portion of the pixel values, in which the second portion of the pixel values includes the pixel values of at least two non-adjacent pixels. Each of the drivers receives respectively a part of the first portion of the pixel values transmitted by the first timing controller and a part of the second portion of the pixel values transmitted by the second timing controller. A method of transmitting image data in the display is also disclosed.

Display and method of transmitting image data therein

A pixel of the LCD is driven according to a precharge pixel value and a compensation pixel value both being generated from a pixel value during a precharge field and a compensation field respectively. A precharge driving voltage corresponding to the precharge pixel value, and a compensation driving voltage corresponding to the compensation pixel value is then determined and used to drive the pixel. The lightness of the pixel driven according to the precharge pixel value and the compensation pixel value is substantially the same as the lightness of the pixel if driven according to the pixel value. The precharge field comes before the compensation field when the precharge pixel value is larger than the compensation pixel value, and the compensation field comes before the precharge field when the compensation pixel value is larger than the precharge pixel value.

A method of dynamic frame presentation improvement for liquid crystal display is disclosed. The method comprises the step of providing a gray level mapping table, which maps the signal gray levels from 0 to N into mapped gray levels from 1 to N&#x2212;1 level. Thereafter, the mapped data is fed into over-voltage compensation circuit. The over-voltage compensation circuit then implements process of the gray level ascending or gray level descending while the previous frame turns into current frame with a varied gray level.

A driving method for PDPs with variable vertical frequency. The method increases the sum of the sustain periods to obtain high brightness, by adjusting vertical frequency of a PDP through an image loading such that each image frame time displayed on the PDP is adjusted. The inventive driving method also adjusts total sustain pulses in the PDP through the image loading. To comply with the driving method, a driving apparatus is further provided to achieve the high brightness.

Driving method for PDPs with variable vertical frequency

A driving method for a flat panel display. First, an image signal is transformed to frame data. Next, characteristic data for the frame data is obtained. Next, a scanning order of the first electrodes is determining according to the characteristic data. Next, scanning electrodes are driven in the scanning order during the addressing period. Finally, the data electrodes corresponding to the first electrodes are driven to perform the addressing operation.
