A converter circuit includes an inverter and a controller. The inverter is configured to receive an input voltage and to convert the input voltage into a primary-side alternating-current (AC) voltage in a first inversion mode or a second inversion mode. Each of a first switch unit and a second switch unit in the inverter includes switches. When the converter circuit works in the first inversion mode, the controller controls switches of the first switch unit and the second switch unit to cooperatively switch on and switch off periodically according to an output voltage corresponding to the primary-side AC voltage. When the converter circuit works in the second inversion mode, the controller controls the first switch unit to operate independently, in which the switches of the first switch unit switch on and switch off periodically.

Converter circuit with a switchable topology

A power conversion device is disclosed herein. The power conversion device includes an AC/DC converter, a DC/DC converter, and a DC/DC isolation converter. The AC/DC converter is configured to convert AC power into a first DC power, or convert the first DC power into the AC power. The DC/DC converter is configured to convert the first DC power into a second DC power, or convert the second DC power into the first power. The DC/DC isolation converter is coupled between the AC/DC converter and the DC/DC converter, and configured to isolate the AC/DC converter and the DC/DC converter bi-directionally.

A method for controlling a DC/DC converter includes the steps of: controlling and keeping an output voltage of the DC/DC converter to stabilize at a first value according to a first interval of an input voltage of the DC/DC converter; controlling and keeping the output voltage of the DC/DC converter to stabilize at a second value according to a second interval of the input voltage of the DC/DC converter; controlling the second value of the output voltage to be greater than the first value; and controlling a switching frequency or a duty cycle of the DC/DC converter within a first predetermined range in the first and second intervals.

Converter circuit with a switchable topology and method of converting power

A control method for a power converter is provided. The power converter includes an inductor, and a switch selectively turned on according to a control signal. The control method includes determining an on-time and a falling time according to a voltage information or a current information of the power converter; determining a switching period of the control signal according to the on-time, the falling time, and a resonant period corresponding to the inductor and a parasitic capacitance of the switch; adjusting the switching period by comparing the switching period with a first threshold period and a second threshold period; generating the control signal having the switching period when the switching period is greater than the first threshold period and less than the second threshold period or when the switching period is greater than the second threshold period and the power converter operates at over 50% of a rated power.

Converter, controller, and control method

A power converting circuit includes a converter. The converter receives and converts an input power to provide power for a load. The converter includes a power storage unit, a switch unit, a capacitor unit, and a current sampling unit. The power storage unit includes input and output terminals. The switch unit includes first and second switches, which are series connected at a common terminal, and the common terminal is coupled to the output terminal of the power storage unit. The capacitor unit includes first and second capacitors. The first capacitor and the switch unit are parallel connected to form a capacitor-switch parallel structure. The second capacitor capacitance is more than ten times larger than the first capacitor capacitance. The current sampling unit and the capacitor-switch parallel structure are series connected to form a capacitor-sampling unit series structure. The capacitor-sampling unit series structure and the second capacitor are parallel connected.
