An embodiment of a receiver apparatus may include high pass components to pass high frequency components of an input signal, low pass components to pass low frequency components of the input signal, and an amplifier communicatively coupled to the high pass components and the low pass components to amplify respective signals passed by the high pass components and the low pass components, wherein the low pass components include a level shifter to shift a common mode voltage level of the input signal to a switch threshold voltage for the amplifier in accordance with at least two different types of memory devices. Other embodiments are disclosed and claimed.

Low power and area efficient memory receiver

A receiver architecture for memory reads is described herein. In one embodiment, a memory interface comprises a plurality of transmitters, wherein each of the plurality of transmitters is configured to transmit data to a memory device over a respective one of a plurality of I/O channels. The memory interface also comprises a plurality of receivers, wherein each of the plurality of receivers is coupled to a respective one of the plurality of transmitters, and is configured to receive data from the memory device over the respective one of the plurality of I/O channels. The plurality of receivers are grouped together into a receiver subsystem that is located away from the plurality of transmitters.

Receiver architecture for memory reads

Apparatus, and an associated method, for adaptively controlling filter characteristics of a filter forming part of a receive station, such as a mobile station operable in a cellular communication system. An adaptive parameter unit is provided with signal representations of signals that are to be applied to the filter element. The adaptive parameter unit, responsive to measurement or other analysis of the signal indicia, selects the filter characteristics to be exhibited by the filter. And, the filter characteristics are caused to be selected responsive thereto. Dynamic selection and reselection of the filter characteristics is effectuated in which the response time of the filter is minimized during good signal conditions and increased, to permit increased filter operations, during weak signal conditions.

Provided are improved systems and methods for spread spectrum communication employing hybrid Eb/No and pilot-based finger lock determination for RAKE receivers. Finger lock thresholds are periodically set using an extended time-averaged Eb/No traffic signal estimate for each finger mapped to an Ec/No pilot level, where the extended time-averaged Eb/No estimate is inversely proportional to the mapped Ec/No level, thus, decreasing the required Ec/No level when the Eb/No estimate increases and increasing the required Ec/No level when the Eb/No estimate decreases. Existing pilot-based finger lock algorithms may be used with the Ec/No threshold set using the extended time-averaged Eb/No estimate. When pilot signals are weak but traffic signals remain strong, fingers will remain locked to increase the combiner output signal-to-noise ratio.
