An electrical connector, including an insulating body having a base and a tongue extending forward from the base. Multiple terminals are arranged on the tongue at intervals to form at least one row, each terminal having a contact portion exposed from a surface of the tongue. A middle shielding sheet is insert molded in the tongue, and located closer to a middle position of the tongue than the contact portion in a vertical direction. Two recesses are provided backward from a front edge of the middle shielding sheet. A spacer portion is formed between the two recesses of the middle shielding sheet and embedded into the tongue. In a transverse direction, the middle shielding sheet has a through-hole between at least one recess and a side edge of the middle shielding sheet. A front edge of the spacer portion extends forward beyond a front edge of the through-hole.

Method for molding electrical connector

An electrical connector configured for insertion with a mating connector, including an insulating body that has a base and a tongue extending forward from the base. The tongue has a middle portion and a mating portion. The middle portion is connected to the mating portion and the base, and the middle portion having a thickness greater than that of the mating portion. Multiple terminals are provided, and each terminal has a connection portion. The connection portions are divided into an upper row and a lower row and fixed to the middle portion. A middle shielding sheet is insert molded into the tongue and located between the connection portions in the upper low and the lower row. The middle shielding sheet has at least one first protruding portion that extends out a side edge of the middle portion.

An electrical connector, including an insulating body; multiple first terminals, insert molded into the insulating body and having at least one grounding terminal, at least one power supply terminal and a pair of differential signal terminals located between the grounding terminal and the power supply terminal adjacent to each other; and a middle shielding sheet, insert molded into the insulating body, and located above or below the first terminals. The middle shielding sheet has, on at least one side of a central line of the middle shielding sheet, a notch and a first protruding portion away from the central line as compared to the notch. The central line extends in a front-rear direction. The notch is concavely provided backward from a front end edge of the middle shielding sheet, and vertically corresponds to the power supply terminal. The first protruding portion has a through-hole vertically corresponding to the grounding terminal.

An electrical connector includes an insulating body having a base, and multiple upper row terminals and multiple lower row terminals fixed in the insulating body. Each terminal has a soldering portion respectively extending out of the base. The upper row terminals include at least one upper row signal terminal, and the lower row terminals include at least one lower row signal terminal. The soldering portion of the upper row signal terminal is in contact with the soldering portion of the lower row signal terminal. By means of contact between the soldering portions of the upper row and lower row signal terminals, a transmission signal of the upper row signal terminal and a transmission signal of the lower row signal terminal are directly combined, and the signals do not need to be combined by other means. The transmission current is larger due to more conducted parts in the electrical connector.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector. Multiple first and second terminals are arranged respectively on upper and lower surfaces of a tongue to form upper and lower rows. A middle shielding sheet is insert molded in the tongue and located between the first and second terminals, and has a first middle hole across a central line thereof along a front-rear direction. A width of the first middle hole along a transverse direction is greater than that of at least one USB 2.0 terminal. The first middle hole is located between the USB 2.0 terminals in the upper and lower rows. The middle shielding sheet has first holes respectively at two transverse sides of the central line. A front edge of the first middle hole extends forward beyond a rear edge of the first holes. The length of the first middle hole along the front-rear direction is shorter than that of each first hole.

A method for molding an electrical connector, includes: S1: providing a row of first terminals, and integrally wrapping an insulating block on the first terminals by insert molding, wherein the insulating block wraps a part of each first terminal, and the insulating block and the row of first terminals together form a first terminal module; S2: providing a middle shielding sheet; and S3: integrally wrapping an insulating body around the middle shielding sheet and the first terminal module by insert molding.

An electrical connector includes a body having a tongue, a pair of first differential signal terminals and a pair of second differential signal terminals fixed to the body, and a middle shielding sheet fixed to the tongue, and located between the first and second differential signal terminals. The tongue includes an upper surface having two depressed first receiving slots and a lower surface having two depressed second receiving slots. A first groove is depressed from each first receiving slot. A second groove is upward depressed from each second receiving slot. Each first differential signal terminal has a first contact portion fixed to and exposed from the upper surface of the tongue. Each second differential signal terminal has a second contact portion fixed to and exposed from the lower surface of the tongue. The first and second contact portions are partially accommodated in the first and second receiving slot respectively.

An electrical connector for mating with a mating connector includes an insulating body having a base and a tongue extending forward from the base. An upper row of terminals and a lower row of terminals are disposed in the insulating body. Each upper or lower row terminal has a contact portion exposed from an upper or a lower surface of the tongue, respectively. An upper and a lower grounding sheets are laminated to the upper and lower surfaces of the tongue respectively, and are assembled and connected to each other. A shielding case covers the periphery of the insulating body, and the upper and lower grounding sheets. The shielding case, the insulating body, and the upper and lower grounding sheets together form an insertion space for the mating connector to be inserted therein. The shielding case is respectively and electrically conducted to the upper and lower grounding sheets.

Electrical connector with improved grounding means

An electrical connector includes a body having a tongue, a row of first terminals insert-molded in the body, a depressed slot, and a positioning slot. The tongue includes a first surface having multiple receiving slots. Each first terminal has a contact portion accommodated in the receiving slot and exposed from the first surface. The first terminals include a pair of differential signal terminals and multiple non-high-speed terminals. The depressed slot is depressed from the first surface, located between contact portions of two differential signal terminals, and in communication with two adjacent receiving slots. The positioning slot is depressed from the first surface, located between contact portions of two adjacent non-high-speed terminals, or of adjacent non-high-speed terminal and differential signal terminal, and in communication with two adjacent receiving slots. The length of the positioning slot is less than the length of the depressed slot.
