A cable end connector and the method of making the same are disclosed. The connector includes a first contact module, a second contact module, a central grounding unit, a grounding means, and a shielding shell electrically connecting with the grounding means. The first contact module includes first contacts and a first insulator retaining the first contacts. The first insulator has a first tongue section and a first assembling section. The second contact module includes second contacts and a second insulator retaining the second contacts. The second insulator has a second tongue section and a second assembling section. The shielding shell has a front shell and a rear shell partially overlapped on the front shell. The front shell substantially encloses the first and the second tongue sections of the first and the second contact modules, the central grounding unit and the grounding means. The rear shell covers the first and the second assembling sections of the first and the second contact modules.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a plurality of contacts. The insulative housing has a main portion defining a top wall, a bottom wall and a mating cavity, the bottom wall has a first segment, a second segment spaced apart from the first segment and a protrusion extending away from the mating cavity, the protrusion is located between the first segment and the second segment. Each contact has a retention portion, a contacting arm and a soldering tail, the contacts comprises a group of first contacts, a group of second contacts, a group of third contacts and a group of fourth contacts. A distance between the retention portion and the soldering tail of each fourth contact along a height direction is larger than a distance between the retention portion and the soldering tail of each second contact.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and two contact modules. The insulative housing has a bottom mounting portion having a cavity opening downwardly and a mating portion, the mating portion has a central mating space and a pair of side walls on both sides of the mating space, and a plurality of contact receiving passageways defined on each side wall. Each contact module has an insulator received in the cavity and a plurality of contacts insert-molded in the insulator, each contact defines a contacting arm and a soldering portion. The insulative housing defines a pair of locating portions extending downwards from two sides of the mounting portion, the distance between the pair of locating portions is smaller than an internal diameter of the cavity, a pair of demising slots are formed on an interior side of each locating portion for the contact modules passing through.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts retained in the insulative housing, a fastener and a first sealing ring. The insulative housing has a rear section extending backwardly. The rear section has a rear space and a first peripheral wall around the rear space. Each contact has a connecting leg extending into the rear space. The fastener has a mating section to engage with the rear section and a board receiving chamber extending therethrough along a front to back direction. The fastener has a fixed position on the insulative housing, and as moving the fastener to the fixed position, the connecting legs are pressed into the board receiving chamber for electrically connecting with the flexible printed circuit board, and the first sealing ring is sealed around the junction of the contacts and the flexible printed circuit board.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts retained in the insulative housing and a fastener. The insulative housing has a rear surface. Each contact has a connecting leg extending beyond the rear surface. The connecting legs are arranged in at least a row, and each connecting leg has a connecting portion and a resisting portion. The fastener has at least a contact receiving chamber, a flexible circuit board receiving chamber communicating with the contact receiving chamber and a press section. The contact receiving chamber is arranged between from the flexible circuit board receiving chamber and the press section. Wherein the fastener has a fixed position on the insulative housing, and as moving the fastener to the fixed position, the press section presses the resisting portion to drive the connecting portion projecting into the flexible circuit board receiving chamber.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of contacts retained in the insulative housing, a metallic outer shell enclosing the insulative housing, and a metallic inner shell positioned between the metallic outer shell and the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a base and a tongue portion protruding from the base. The contacts include a number of flat contacting portions exposed on a top surface and a bottom surface of the tongue portion, respectively. The metallic inner shell includes at least two pieces which are separately made and fixed to the insulative housing. The metallic inner shell and the metallic outer shell are in mechanical contact with each other in order to achieve a relative larger grounding area.

An electrical connector mountable on a printed circuit board and adapted for mating with a complementary connector, includes an insulating housing and a plurality of contacts. The insulating housing defines a base section, an upper and a lower walls extending forwardly from the base section, and a receiving space defined between the upper and the lower walls. Each contact has a main portion, a contacting portion extending from the main portion and exposed to the receiving space, and a tail portion extending outside of the insulating housing. A positioning protrusion is formed on an inside face of the lower wall and extends into the receiving space, and defines a slanted guiding surface therealong opposing to the upper wall to guide an insertion or rejection of the complementary connector.

An electrical connector for mounting onto a printed circuit board includes an insulating housing and a plurality of power contacts. The insulating housing has a number of dividing walls and a number of receiving passageways defined between the dividing walls. One of the dividing walls defines a heat dissipation cutout thereon for heat dissipation purpose.
