An optical composite structure includes first, second and third prism sheets. The first prism sheet has a first light incident surface and a first light exit surface opposite to each other. The second prism sheet has a second light incident surface facing the first light exit surface and a second light exit surface opposite to the second light incident surface, and includes a haze layer having the second light incident surface and a prism layer which is stacked on the haze layer and which has the second light exit surface. The third prism sheet has a third light incident surface facing the second light exit surface, and includes a haze layer and a prism layer stacked on the haze layer of the third prism sheet. The haze layer of the third prism sheet has a haze greater than a haze of the haze layer of the second prism sheet.

Optical composite structure

An optical lens device for a head-mounted display includes a transparent support substrate and a Fresnel lens disposed thereon. The Fresnel lens includes a central lens element and a plurality of prismatic elements arranged relative to the central lens element in a proximal-to-distal manner. Each of the prismatic elements has a base facing toward the support substrate, and a draft facet and a sloped facet extending from the base away from the support substrate to intersect with each other to form an apex. Each of the prismatic elements has a height measured from the base to the apex and not greater than 75 &#x3bc;m. The base has a width not greater than 250 &#x3bc;m. A method and a mold for producing the optical lens device are also disclosed.

A light guide substrate includes first and second triangular prisms juxtaposed to each other on a light exit face thereof. Each of the first and second triangular prisms has a rounded vertex. The number of the first triangular prisms is smaller than the number of the second triangular prisms. Each first triangular prism has a first height from the light exit face. Each second triangular prisms has a second height from the light exit face. The second height is between 20 and 90 percent of the first height. A backlight module includes the aforesaid light guide substrate, a reverse prism sheet disposed on the light guide substrate, and a light emitting unit to emit light rays into the light substrate.

Light guide substrate and a backlight module including ihe same

A backlight module includes a light guide plate, a light source, a prism sheet, and a reflective film. The light source is disposed on a light-incident surface of the light guide plate. The prism sheet is disposed on a light exit surface of the light guide plate, and includes a plurality of first prism structures that protrude toward the light exit surface of the light guide plate. The reflective film is disposed on a reflection surface of the light guide plate, and includes a film body, a plurality of second prism structures that are disposed on the film body and that protrude from the film body toward the reflection surface, and a light absorbing layer that is disposed on the film body opposite to the second prism structures.

Backlight module

A light guide plate includes a plate body having a light exit surface, a reflection surface opposite to the light exit surface, and a light-incident surface connected between the light exit surface and the reflection surface and adapted to face a light source. The light-incident surface includes a vertical portion perpendicularly connected to the light exit surface, and a sloped portion connecting the vertical portion and the reflection surface. The sloped portion is inwardly inclined from the vertical portion towards the reflection surface.

Light guide plate

A light guide plate includes a light guide layer and a first microstructure layer. The light guide layer has a light exit surface, a back surface, and a light incidence surface interconnecting the light exit surface and the back surface. The first microstructure layer is disposed on the back surface, and includes a plurality of first microstructures spaced apart from one another. Each first microstructure has a polygonal planar base, and two first inclined faces and two second inclined faces which extend from the planar base, and which are proximal and distal to the light incidence surface, respectively. Each first inclined face intersects the respective second inclined face at a respective first ridge. Each first ridge cooperates with the planar base to form a first angle that ranges from 5 to 70 degrees.
