An audio codec in a baseband processor may be utilized for mixing audio signals received at a plurality of data sampling rates. The mixed audio signals may be up sampled to a very large sampling rate, and then down sampled to a specified sampling rate that is compatible with a Bluetooth-enabled device by utilizing an interpolator in the audio codec. The down-sampled signals may be communicated to Bluetooth-enabled devices, such as Bluetooth headsets, or Bluetooth-enabled devices with a USB interface. The interpolator may be a linear interpolator for which the audio codec may enable generation of triggering and/or coefficient signals based on the specified output sampling rate. An interpolation coefficient may be generated based on a base value associated with the specified output sampling rate. The audio codec may enable selecting the specified output sampling rate from a plurality of rates.

Method and system for handling the processing of bluetooth data during multi-path multi-rate audio processing

A UE receives HSDPA traffic comprising legacy HSDPA traffic and HS-SCCH-less HSDPA traffic. The UE concurrently processes the received legacy HSDPA traffic and the received HS-SCCH-less HSDPA traffic. The received HSDPA traffic is concurrently buffered into a first storage and a second storage to support simultaneously receiving legacy HSDPA traffic and HS-SCCH-less HSDPA traffic. A HARQ process is performed on the buffered HSDPA traffic in the first storage or the second storage according to a corresponding HS-SCCH CRC test. The resulting HARQ processed HSDPA traffic is Turbo decoded. Turbo decoding on the previously HARQ processed HSDPA traffic is performed simultaneously with HARQ processing on the buffered HSDPA traffic in the first storage or the second storage. The buffered HS-SCCH-less HSDPA traffic is processed via HARQ processing and Turbo decoding for each of the four pre-determined transport formats.

Method and system for continuous packet connectivity

Aspects of a method and system for processing control channel signals may include calculating at a receiver, for a portion of a sub-frame of each one of a plurality of control channels, first and second quality metrics. A control channel may be selected on the basis of the quality metrics. The calculating and selecting may be done for a first slot of a corresponding sub-frame. A validity of a selected control channel may be determined based on a CRC derived from decoding the selected control channel's sub-frame.

Method and system for UMTS HSDPA shared control channel processing

A channel receiver operable to implement fractional dedicated physical channel (F-DPCH) for high-speed data packet access is provided. A received RF signal is processed to produce a set of soft symbol outputs. The receiver detects whether transmit power control (TPC) command bits are present in the set of soft symbol outputs. The TPC command bits are conveyed with the RF signal over non-dedicated pilot bits in the processed baseband signal. When TPC command bits are detected, the set of soft symbol outputs are processed to produce estimated TPC command bits. A TPC quality estimate is generated based on the estimated TPC command bits. A signal-to-interference ratio for the WCDMA dedicated physical channel is adjusted based upon a comparison of the TPC quality estimate with a TPC quality target to effect F-DPCH power control.

Methods and systems for processing audio signals are disclosed herein. Aspects of the method may comprise controlling gain during multipath, multi-rate audio processing by generating a digital signal that is a product of an input digital signal and a gain coefficient derived from a lookup table, and coarse tuning the gain by bit-shifting the digital signal to generate a digital output signal. The gain may be fine-tuned utilizing a variable step size determined by interpolation. The gain coefficient may be partitioned into gain blocks, which may be twice a corresponding value in preceding gain blocks. The gain blocks may be partitioned into steps that represent particular gain values within a range associated with the gain block. The digital output signal may be ramped utilizing a linear interpolation of the gain coefficients over a number of samples of the input signal, where the number of samples is given as a power of two.

Controlling gain during multipath multi-rate audio processing

A baseband processing module of a base station includes a Turbo decoding module. The Turbo decoding module decodes a Turbo code word to produce one or more Media Access Control (MAC) packet(s) carried by the turbo decode word. Each MAC packet includes a MAC packet header and the MAC packet payload, which carries one or more Radio Link Control (RLC) Packet Data Units (PDUs). The Turbo decoding module decodes the MAC packet header to determine boundaries of the PDUs carried in the MAC packet payload. The Turbo decoding module decodes RLC PDU headers and RLC PDU payloads of the RLC PDUs. The Turbo decoding module writes the decoded MAC packet header, the decoded RLC PDU headers, and the decoded RLC PDU payloads to memory in a word-aligned format. The Turbo decoding module may also operate in various other Turbo decoding modes.

A wireless communication device receives acquisition indicator (AI) data, including an acquisition indicator (AI), a corresponding AI signature, and a corresponding plurality of extended AI indicators (EAI). The device determines whether channel power corresponding to the received AI signature exceeds a first negative limit. The device determines whether a reliability metric of the extended acquisition indicators exceeds a second limit. If the channel power does not exceed the first negative limit and the reliability metric does not exceed the second limit, the device declares the AI to be an indeterminate indicator that denotes neither acknowledgment nor denial of an access request associated with the received AI data.

In a video processing system, a method and system for dynamically configurable DCT/IDCT module in a wireless handset are provided. A processor may be used to configure a quantization scheme and video format mode of operation and to configure a processing network in a DCT/IDCT module. The mode of operation may depend on whether the received video signal is in JPEG, MPEG, and/or H.263 format. The processing network may be configured into a DCT processing network configuration or an IDCT processing network configuration based on whether the received video signal is to be encoded or decoded respectively. The DCT/IDCT module may comprise a FIFO, an adder/subtractor, a multiplier/accumulator, a plurality of digital dividers, and a de-quantizer. The plurality of digital dividers may comprise a 12-bit divider and an 7-bit divider. The mode and configuration modifications may be dynamically performed during operation of the wireless handset.

Method and system for dynamically configurable DCT/IDCT module in a wireless handset

Disclosed are various embodiments for cancellation of a PSCH signal and/or SSCH signal from an RX input signal. A PSCH sequence and SSCH sequence are extracted a PSCH and SSCH signal. A relative gain associated with the PSCH signal and SSCH signal are determined relative to a CPICH signal. A reconstructed PSCH and SSCH signal are generated and cancelled from the RX input signal.

The system processing circuitry further includes an IR control module for processing IR transactions related to a received RLC data block and for tracking an Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) receiving state and received block bit map and a Layer 1 (L1) module for intercepting and diverting the IR transactions to the IR control module and for passing a correctly decoded RLC data block to the RLC layer operations via the MAC layer operations thereby automatically synchronizing the RLC layer operations. An IR processing module is coupled to the system processing circuitry to perform IR operations on the received RLC data block based upon a direction from the IR control module.

Aspects of one method may include normalizing a signal power of a first control channel based on a threshold value. The second control channel may be delayed with respect to the first control channel by a particular time period. The first and second control channels may be common pilot control channels (CPICHs). A plurality of weighting factor values may be computed based on the received multipath signals. Estimated signals may be based on the weighting factor values. Residual signals may be generated based on received signals and the estimated signals. Addback signals may be generated based on the estimated signals and the residual signals. Updated estimated signals may be generated based on the addback signals and the weighting factor values. A downlink channel receiver operable to implement fractional dedicated physical channel (F-DPCH) processing within a Rake receiver structure is provided. The downlink channel receiver includes a receiver, a baseband processing block, a WCDMA processing block, wherein F-DPCH processing is divided between a plurality of hardware processing blocks and a plurality of firmware (FW) processing blocks. The receiver is operable to convert a radio frequency (RF) signal to a baseband signal. The baseband processing block operable to processes and provides the baseband signal to the WCDMA processing block.
