A multi-input multi-output (MIMO) Bluetooth module with effectively suppressed mutual interference is disclosed. The MIMO Bluetooth module has multiple Bluetooth transceivers which operate in a synchronized transmission mode, in which no Bluetooth transceiver is permitted to transmit data when any of the Bluetooth transceivers are receiving data.

The beamforming control circuit determines beamforming coefficients according to the estimated channel. The TX circuit applies the beamforming coefficients to transmission of an output data during at least one second time slot later than the at least one first time slot. During the at least one second time slot, the output data is transmitted to another wireless communication apparatus via multiple antennae. The wireless communication apparatus performs communications according to a normal frequency hopping sequence in compliance with a communication specification.

Systems and methods of mesh network communication enabling a relay node to autonomously select a packet propagation mechanism. Upon receiving a packet, which may carry an indication for flooding propagation as set by the edge node originating the packet, or carry no specification for any propagation mode, the relay node determines whether the packet is eligible for routing-propagation based on a number of factors, such as whether there is an existent valid route from the source node to the destination node, whether the packet is originated from a friend edge node, and whether a route discovery process has been initiated. Accordingly, the relay node may change the indication to routing propagation and forward it by routing-relaying. Thus, the packet can be propagated over the mesh network by routing propagation, despite the initial setting for flooding propagation as specified by the edge node or no setting by the edge node.

Hybrid flood-relaying and routing mesh networks

Methods of establishing a bidirectional route between a route originator node and a route destination node in a wireless mesh network include the route originator node broadcasting a route request message to relay nodes in the network. The route request message identifies the route destination node as the final destination for the route request message and also identifies a transmitted power level. The relay nodes determine whether the link with the route originator node is bidirectional using the transmitted power level and the received signal strength to determine the power loss over the link and then by comparing its transmission power level to that power loss. The relay node forwards the route request message when the first link is bidirectional. This process is repeated at each node that receives the route request message until the route request message reaches the route destination mode.

Processing of wireless advertising packets can be processed by a controller when the advertising packet includes an indication of a preference for processing the advertising packet by the controller. If the advertising packet does not include an indication of a preference for processing the advertising packet by the controller, the advertising packet can be processed by a host. In addition, if the advertising packet includes an indication of a preference for processing by the controller, but the controller cannot process the advertising packet, the advertising packet can be processed by the host.

A wireless communication device, serving as a destination node of one or more data packets propagated in a wireless mesh network, is provided. The wireless communication device includes a wireless transceiver and a controller. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception in the wireless mesh network. A UE controls in-device coexistence (IDC) indication message generation to mitigate potential throughput impact on UE to maintain UE performance as much as possible. Under the proposed method, FDM-based solution is always preferred by the UE. Based on the IDC indication message generated by the UE, a network applies an IDC interference mitigation solution that prioritizes FDM-based solution. Specifically, the UE first sends an IDC message requesting FDM-based solution. In case the serving eNB does not respond, the UE sends a new IDC message by alternating IDC option. Even if a TDM-based solution has been received, the UE may continue requesting FDM-based solution to gain UE performance.

Prioritized generation of IDC indication message to mitigate IDC impact on UE performance

A method of managing data transmission for a receiving terminal of a first wireless system wherein the first wireless system coexists with at least one second wireless system includes receiving a transmission schedule of each of the at least one second wireless system; determining a usable time period for the first wireless system according to the transmission schedule of each of the at least one second wireless system; and sending a clear to send (CTS) to self signal or a power saving signal to indicate an interruption of the usable time period according to a length of the usable time period.

The invention provides a mobile communication device having a first wireless communication module with a strong driving circuit, and a second wireless communication module with a weak driving circuit. The first wireless communication module is coupled to the second wireless communication module via only one wire. The first wireless communication module sends a first traffic pattern of a first wireless transceiving to the second wireless communication module via the wire, and receives a second traffic of a second wireless transceiving from the second wireless communication module via the wire. The second traffic pattern indicates whether the second wireless communication module decides to use a remaining period of time, in which the first wireless communication module is not required to perform wireless transceiving, for the second wireless transceiving.

Apparatuses and methods for coordination between plurality of co-located wireless communication modules via one wire

For LTE cellular data and Wi-Fi P2P technology coexistence scenario, a user equipment can generate in-device coexistence (IDC) indication message to the base station for DRX-based IDC solution. LTE data scheduling is described by a set of DRX parameters, while Wi-Fi P2P data scheduling is described by Opportunistic Power Saving (OppoPS) and Notification of Absence (NoA) parameters. When generating the IDC indication message for Wi-Fi P2P group client (GC), the DRX parameters must be selected carefully to maximize efficiency. Even though Wi-Fi shares less time, with proper time alignment, its coexistence performance could be better. For Wi-Fi P2P group owner (GO) with IDC TDM scheduling constraints, OppoPS and NoA should be aligned with DRX parameters to achieve best performance.

Coordination of Wi-Fi P2P and LTE data traffic

A method of fast link adaptation for Bluetooth long-range wireless networks is provided. A data packet comprises a preamble, a first packet portion including a rate indication field, and a second packet portion including a PDU. The first packet portion is encoded using a first modulation and coding scheme with a first rate while the second packet portion is encoded using a second modulation and coding scheme with a second rate indicated by the RI field. A transmitter thus can use different MCS options to support variable data rates by adapting to channel conditions, and then uses the novel RI field to indicate the data rate to a receiver dynamically. As a result, fast link adaptation can be achieved for different applications with different rate requirements, to provide higher data rate, reduce connection time, lower power consumption, and improve link quality.

Rate indication and link adaptation for variable data rates in long range wireless networks

Methods and apparatus are provided to measure, estimate throughput of wireless network for traffic offload. In one novel aspect, the UE determines the association status of a radio access network (RAN). The UE measures or estimates the end-to-end throughput of the RAN. In one embodiment, non-intrusive estimation by QoS probing request is used. In another embodiment, direct measurement with modeling is used. The modeling uses admission control/scheduling. In another embodiment, estimation or probing the metrics with or without modeling is used with either in-band probing or non-intrusive probing. In yet another embodiment, the throughput is obtained based on network signaling messages. In another novel aspect, the UE selects a dynamic measurement or estimation algorithm based on the association status and the QoS type of the traffic. Admission control procedure or binary admission procedure is used with the initial bandwidth request based on association status.

Dynamic algorithms for WLAN-cellular performance estimation, access selection, and traffic offload

A mobile communications device supporting operation on a first wireless technology and a second wireless technology is provided. The device includes a wireless module performing wireless transceiving to and from a first station of a first wireless technology and a second station of a second wireless technology, and a controller module, transmitting a control message prior to the starting of a uplink transmission period of the first wireless technology via the wireless module to occupy the uplink transmission period of the first wireless technology so as to allow transmission of signals of the second wireless technology during the uplink transmission period of the first wireless technology. In operation, the controller module further rearranges the transmission of signals of the second wireless technology to end the transmission of signals of the second wireless technology prior to the starting of a downlink transmission period of the first wireless technology.

Wireless communications devices supporting WiFi and LTE communications and methods for transmission control thereof

A communications apparatus includes a radio module providing a predetermined wireless communications service and communicating with a peer communications apparatus in a predetermined frequency band in compliance with a predetermined protocol. The radio module includes a processor. The processor determines a maximum packet transmission duration, transmits information regarding the maximum packet transmission duration to the peer communications apparatus and negotiates a preferred packet transmission duration with the peer communications apparatus.
