The present invention discloses a backlight control method having dynamic backlight adjusting mechanism used in a display control circuit is provided and includes the steps outlined below. A frame refresh time length of a former frame is obtained. When a current frame is started to be displayed, a backlight module is controlled to output a strobe backlight in a backlight turn-on time period. When an actual display time reaches the frame refresh time length and a next frame is not started to be displayed, the backlight module is controlled to output a constant backlight until the next frame is started to be displayed. When the actual display time does not reach the frame refresh time length and the next frame is started to be displayed, the backlight module is controlled to output the constant backlight until the frame next to the next frame is started to be displayed.

Display control circuit and backlight control method thereof having dynamic backlight adjusting mechanism

Disclosed is a display backlight control method for adapting a display backlight source to multiple refresh rates. The method includes: ascertaining a relation between a refresh rate and a threshold; if the relation indicates that the refresh rate changes from being higher than the threshold to lower than the threshold, transmitting a first mode backlight control signal to make the display backlight source provide a first transitional backlight in a first transition period and then provide a constant backlight; and if the relation indicates that the refresh rate changes from being lower than the threshold to higher than the threshold, transmitting a second mode backlight control signal to make the display backlight source provide a second transitional backlight in a second transition period and then provide a non-transitional strobe backlight. The first (second) transitional backlight includes a first (second) transitional strobe backlight and a first (second) transitional constant backlight.

Display backlight control method

A display device includes a liquid crystal display panel, a backlight module, a control circuit, a driving module, and a waveform generator. The liquid crystal display panel includes a plurality of liquid crystal pixels. The backlight module generates the backlight required by the liquid crystal display panel, and the backlight module includes a plurality of backlight blocks. The control circuit determines a backlight intensity corresponding to each backlight block in a frame period according to an input display data and generates a control signal according to the backlight intensities corresponding to the backlight blocks. The driving module generates a plurality of driving signals to the backlight module in the frame period according to the control signal. The waveform generator generates a de-blur pulse signal to the backlight module. When the de-blur pulse signal is at a high voltage, the backlight blocks emit lights according to the driving signals.

Display device supporting local dimming and motion blur reduction

The present invention provides a control circuit applied to a display panel, wherein the control circuit includes a receiving interface, an image processing circuit and a transmission interface. The receiving interface is configured to receive image data, wherein the image data has a variable frame rate. The image processing circuit is configured to receive the image data from the receiving interface, and perform a frequency multiplication operation on the image data according to a frame rate of the image data to generate output image data, wherein a frame rate of the output image data is a positive integer multiple of the frame rate of the image data. The transmission interface is configured to receive the output image data from the image processing circuit, and transmit the output image data to the display panel.

Control circuit and control method applicable to display panel

A control chip configured to be coupled with a backlight driving chip and a display panel is provided. The control chip includes a storage element and a processing circuit. The storage element is configured to store a predetermined vertical refresh rate of the display panel. The processing circuit is coupled with the storage element, and is configured to provide a switching signal to the backlight driving chip so that the backlight driving chip enables a backlight module according to the switching signal. A frequency of the switching signal is equal to the predetermined vertical refresh rate. If the processing circuit has not received a vertical refresh starting pulse for more than a predetermined frame time corresponding to the predetermined vertical refresh rate, the processing circuit increases the frequency of the switching signal.

Control chip for use in variable refresh rate and related display device and driving method

This application provides an over-drive compensation method and a device thereof. The over-drive compensation method includes: receiving three primary color information of a current frame, and converting the three primary color information into color space information with luminance, to obtain a current luminance information from the color space information; buffering and storing the current luminance information in a buffer memory and outputting, by the buffer memory, previous luminance information of a previous frame; and generating a luminance over-drive gain value according to the current luminance information and previous luminance information; converting the luminance over-drive gain value into a three primary color over-drive gain value; and generating, according to the three primary color information and the three primary color over-drive gain values, corresponding over-drive compensated values for output to over-drive the liquid crystal display panel.

Over-drive compensation method and device thereof

A display device for motion blur reduction effect is provided which includes a liquid-crystal display panel, a driving module, a backlight module and a processing module. The processing module receives input display data to generate output display data. The output display data includes an output frame data section for performing data transmission with an output pixel clock higher than an input pixel clock and an output blank section within the same frame time. The processing module drives the liquid-crystal display panel to generate a display frame according to the output display data and controls the backlight module to turn on within the output blank section after the liquid-crystal display panel finished reacting to output frame data corresponding to the output frame data section.
