A reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer includes N input ports, N output ports, M add ports and M drop ports. Each of the N input ports and each of the M add ports is respectively connected to one first polarizer. Each of the N output ports and each of the M drop ports is respectively connected to one second polarizer. A first end of the first polarizer is connected to a second end of the first polarizer, forming a loop including the first polarizer. A first end of the second polarizer is connected to a second end of the second polarizer, forming a loop including the second polarizer. An annular waveguide array is between a loop Land a loop L. A first polarizer included in the loop Lis connected to an iinput port. A second polarizer included in the loop Lis connected to a joutput port.

Reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer

An optical communications method and an optical communications apparatus are provided. The method is executed on a communications node that includes an input optical modulator array and an output optical modulator array. The input optical modulator array includes N input optical modulators. The method includes determining at least two local input areas from the input optical modulator array, so that each input optical modulator in each local input area is used to receive a foreign signal light. The method also includes determining at least two local output areas from the output optical modulator array. Each output optical modulator in each local output area is used to send the foreign signal light, and each input optical modulator in a local input area is capable of transmitting the signal light to each output optical modulator in a corresponding local output area.

Optical communications method and apparatus

A method for wavelength conversion comprising receiving an input optical signal with a first wavelength, converting the input optical signal to a plurality of input analog signals, generating a plurality of digital signals based on the input analog signals, compensating for waveform distortions by at least filtering one or more of the digital signals to generate one or more compensated digital signals, converting the compensated digital signals to output analog signals via digital-to-analog (DA) conversion, generating an output optical signal with a second wavelength different from the first wavelength based on the output analog signals, and transmitting the output optical signal.
