A system for operating a driverless utility vehicle in a restricted area, including: a transfer module for transferring control of the utility vehicle at an entrance: from the driver of the utility vehicle to the system, and at an exit: from the system to the driver of the utility vehicle, wherein the restricted area has the entrance, the exit and a predetermined target point; a movement module for autonomously moving the utility vehicle from the entrance to the predetermined target point and from the predetermined target point to the exit; and a performance module for autonomously performing an action on the utility vehicle while the utility vehicle is situated at the predetermined target point, so as to change a state of the utility vehicle by the action. System and method for operating utility vehicles

An electric system of a vehicle including an electronically controlled braking system. The electric system has a steering angle sensor unit, at least one control module, at least one first inertia sensor and an electronic braking system central control unit EBS ECU. The at least one control module is external to the steering angle sensor unit. The at least one control module is also external to the EBS ECU. At least one of the at least one control module has mounted within it one of the at least one first inertia sensor.

Electric system for a vehicle

A steering control system for a commercial vehicle having a braking system to brake dissymmetrically wheels. The steering control system, including a sensor unit and a control module, is configured to detect a braking request or deceleration of the vehicle and/or to detect a lateral offset and to generate a brake indication signal and/or steering demand. The control module is configured to receive the brake indication signal and/or steering demand. If the steering demand is below a predetermined threshold value, the control module is configured to generate the steering signal only if the brake indication signal indicates a braking request. If the steering demand exceeds the predetermined threshold value, the control module is configured to generate the steering signal even if the brake indication signal indicates no braking request. The control module provides the steering signal to the braking system to brake the vehicle dissymmetrically to steer the vehicle.

An apparatus for determining a speed of a vehicle, in which the vehicle includes one or more sensors to determine a distance to or a relative speed of an object in an environment of the vehicle, and in which the apparatus includes a data interface and a processing module. The data interface is configured to receive sensor data from the one or more sensors, where the sensor data indicates the distance to and/or the relative speed of the object. The processing module is configured to determine (i) a motion state of the object based on the received sensor data, and (ii) the speed of the vehicle based on the determined motion state and the received sensor data.

A steering control system for a commercial vehicle having braking and steering systems. The braking system brakes dissymetrically side wheels of the vehicle. The steering system steers the vehicle based on a steering signal. The steering control system includes selection and control modules. The selection module switches between first and second steering modes. The first mode indicates steering of the vehicle by turning vehicle wheels. The second mode indicates steering of the vehicle by generating a braking signal for at least one wheel providing a yaw moment applied to the vehicle. The control module generates the first signal indicating a steering demand in the first mode and a second signal indicating a steering demand in the second mode. The control module provides the first signal to the steering system and the second signal to the braking system to brake the vehicle dissymetrically to steer the vehicle with the yaw moment.

A system for controlling a commercial vehicle in a restricted area, including: an information acquisition module to acquire information from a database about the restricted area, wherein the commercial vehicle includes a sensor unit to detect objects in surroundings of the commercial vehicle, and wherein the acquired information includes cartographic data for objects in the restricted area; a detection module to detect at least one object in the surroundings of the vehicle using the sensor unit of the commercial vehicle; an identification module to identify the at least one detected object in the cartographic data; and a movement module to allow autonomous movement of the commercial vehicle in the restricted area based on the identified objects. System and method for controlling utility vehicles

A device is provided for predicting the remaining lifetime of a component in a compressed air supply system for a vehicle. This device includes a memory unit for a value related to the degradation of the component, at least one first input for a usage quantity which is a measure for the operating time and/or number of operating cycles of the component and/or for the amount of compressed air delivered by the compressed air supply system, at least one second input for at least one state variable which is a measure for at least one vehicle and/or air supply operation condition or environmental condition. It also includes an evaluation unit that is configured to combine the usage quantity and the state variable into a lifetime decrement value that is a measure for the degradation of the component caused by the usage according to the usage quantity, and update the value in the memory unit according to this lifetime decrement value.

Prediction of remaining lifetime for compressed air supply system component

A compressed-air supply device for commercial vehicles is provided. The compressed-air supply device may be connected electrically to an electronic control device that may actuate at least one control valve. The control valve has at least one inlet, one ventilating connection and one outlet. The compressed-air supply device has a control line which is connected to the control valve outlet and may be connected to a control inlet of a compressor and/or an inlet of a regeneration valve, has a supply line via which compressed air may be guided to the control valve inlet, and has a ventilating line connected to the control valve ventilating connection. The control valve may be ventilated via the ventilating line, and is configured such that at a predefined opening pressure in the supply line it pneumatically produces a fluid-conducting connection between the inlet and the outlet such that the control line is ventilated.
