A method, system, architecture and apparatus for deploying multiple e-commerce systems in a single computing platform. In accordance with the present invention, an e-commerce systems architecture can include an instantiable owning business logic component derived from an abstract business definition and one or more instantiable business element components configured for aggregation under the control of a business facility instance. The business facility instance can include a coupling to an instance of the owning business logic component. Finally, the architecture can include an instantiable partner business component derived from the abstract business definition. Illustrated embodiments provide a computer implemented method, an apparatus and a computer program product in an order by proxy service for managing shipments. In one illustrative embodiment, the computer implemented method identifying a set of initial orders received at the proxy service and responsive to identifying the set of initial orders at the proxy service, identifying a set of delivery preferences associated with each order in the set of initial orders to form a set of identified delivery preferences. The computer implemented method further aggregates the set of initial orders based on the set of identified delivery preferences to produce an aggregated order, and releasing the aggregated order for shipping based on predetermined criteria to create a released order.

In electronic commerce (e-commerce) sites that are executed on a single e-commerce application, a user's session is only associated with a single user identity for e-commerce site domain. Acting under a single identity across the site may not be desired. There may be requirements to associate an individual user with one or more separate identities within parts of the site. Aspects of the invention provide a method, system and computer program product for managing multiple user identities for a user of an electronic commerce (e-commerce) site. The method comprises defining the e-commerce site as one or more security domains; and in response to a user's request to invoke an operation of the e-commerce site: determining a one of the one or more security domains to which the operation relates; performing one of a) creating a session and b) reusing a session for the user automatically in accordance with the determined security domain, said session associated with a user identity and a role indicating privileges for invoking operations of the e-commerce site in at least the determined security domain; and persisting said session for reuse. The user's request may be received in association with one or more sessions persisted for the user and a one of the sessions selected in accordance with the determined security domain. In response, either a session may be created or reused. Persisting may comprise providing one or more cookies defining the session to the user for associating with a subsequent request. In accordance with a feature of this aspect, the e-commerce site may define each of the one or more security domains as a hierarchy of organizations and assets owned by the organizations and the determining a one of the one or more security domains to which the operation relates may comprise evaluating the user's request in accordance with the hierarchy.

Multiple identity management in an electronic commerce site

A system, method and program product is provided for establishment of a referential interface between business entities such as manufacturers and distributors in a computerized marketplace. The interface allows commercial interaction between two potentially geographically and technologically disparate systems. The interface is established through definition and then deployment of a distributor profile document, interrelated with a set of referential interface terms and conditions and a referential interface business policy. The profile document has associated terms and conditions representing business rules and processes referring to the business policies which then have business logic implementations. The contract prescribes the business rules that will be followed between a manufacturer and a distributor with the business policies providing mapping to units of business logic in the implementation of the distributor. Additionally the interface allows and may require setup and customization of business policy command implementation logic specific to the desired distributor. The established interface is further customizable and extensible allowing a variety of distributors to be connected to a marketplace as required with relative ease.

Referential interface to enable commercial interaction between entities

An electronic commerce system supports web sites including on-line stores that are accessible by a set of customers and organizations to which stores may belong. Organizations may be defined in accordance with a tree structure. Users accessing a web site are provided with access roles for organizations. The access roles for a user define the portions of the web site for which the user has access privileges. The tree structure of the web site is used to define security domains for users. Users may have access roles of registered customer or administrator. Users without any roles in a security domain are accorded guest privileges within that domain.

The present invention provides a method, system, and program product for modeling processes such as business processes. Specifically, under the present invention, a process having multiple variations is modeled as a placeholder process, and is associated with an annotation that maps the multiple variations to different contexts of the placeholder process. Thereafter, process variations can be generated based on the different contexts of the placeholder process. Integrity checks can also be performed to determine if any of the process variations has an error so that the generation of any corresponding process will be prevented.

A method for XML based object-relationship mapping for different object types in a computer system is provided. The method includes creating a database schema in a database layer including a single table with specific database columns for storing known properties as well as customizable database columns for storing extended properties. The method also includes creating an object in an object layer that has specific methods for known properties and dynamic methods for extended properties, where the object types are variations of the object, the object includes fields for the properties, and the object supports reading and writing the properties to corresponding database columns in the table. The method further includes creating an XML file containing definitions for new object types and new properties, where the property definitions include database column names, and the XML file contains display information for GUI management. The method additionally includes outputting display information a GUI.

The seller and the buyer settle the provisions of the contract by agreeing to a mutually acceptable set of Terms and Conditions. The administering organization creates a Product List Filter specific to each seller or buyer, targeting products in which there is a mutual interest. The Business Rules Book, Terms and Conditions and Product List Filter are linked in a contract profile, to create a contract representing the agreement between the seller and the buyer, and the contract is locked. The Product List Filter allows the product list visible to the buyer or seller to be altered unilaterally by the administering organization, by modifications to the master product list.
