A device for transferring rod articles of the tobacco industry from a longitudinal conveyor, the rod articles having an axis, the longitudinal conveyor having a first transport direction, which transports rod articles in the transport direction, along the axis of rod articles, to a transverse conveyor, the transverse conveyor having a second transport direction, which transports rod articles in the second transport direction transverse to the axis of rod articles, or inversely, containing a rotary transport device with a horizontal rotation axis, equipped with rotary arms on which brackets maintaining a horizontal position during rotation of the transport device, with grippers for gripping rod articles attached to the brackets, characterized in that the gripper is rotationally mounted on the bracket, so that the gripper's axis of rotation is directed vertically during the entire duration of the bracket's movement.

The object of the application is an apparatus for processing rod-like articles of the tobacco industry wherein the rod-like articles are conveyed in flutes of a conveyor along a path of movement transverse to the axis of the rod-like article with a pair () of circular knives (A,B) adjacent to each other, whereas the axes of rotation (Z, Z') of the circular knives are situated on two sides of the path of movement (P), characterized in that the path of movement (P) passes through an area (C) of overlapping of the adjacent circular knives (A,B), whereas in the pair () of the adjacent circular knives (A,B) one circular knife (A) is situated above the carrier surface (A,A&#x2032;) of the conveyor (&#x2032;), whereas the other circular knife (B) is situated beneath the carrier surface (A,A&#x2032;) of the conveyor (&#x2032;). Apparatus and method for processing rod-like articles of the tobacco industry

A method for manufacturing rod-like articles for tobacco industry, the rod-like articles comprising longitudinal inserts located in a filling material, the method comprising: feeding a continuous tape-like wrapper; feeding a strand of the filling material onto the moving wrapper; feeding an insert material, in a form of a tape having weakenings, into the strand of the filling material; forming a continuous rod by wrapping the wrapper around the strand of the filling material with the insert material; cutting the moving continuous rod into discrete rod-like articles by a cutting head at a cutting plane that traverses the weakening in the tape of the insert material; the method being characterized by: inspecting ends of the insert in the rod like article cut from the continuous rod and comparing the ends with a predefined model to obtain a measure of similarity; and depending on the similarity, adjusting the action of the cutting head with respect to the movement of the continuous rod such as to increase the similarity between the ends of the insert to the model in a following rod like article.

The object of the application is a detachable cutting head for an apparatus for feeding filter segments provided with a drum conveyor having flutes for crosswise movement of filter rods, provided with circular knives situated in knife units mounted in the housing of the head, characterized in that it comprises a housing of the head () provided with a reference surface () for positioning in the apparatus for feeding filter segments; seatings () for positioning the knife units () and lead-out channels (), knife units () with circular knives (), whereas the positioning seatings () are situated so that the circular knives () do not overlap. The system further comprises a speed compensator for compensating a speed variation of a portion of the conveyor band such that a speed of another portion of the conveyor band is kept constant. There is also provided an arrangement for retaining rod-shaped articles in a conveyor band. The arrangement comprises a conveyor wheel, wherein the seat is guidable in the conveyor band around the conveyor wheel and comprises an offset conveyor band arranged in parallel and at a distance to the conveyor band along a section of the conveyor band.

In the first configuration the channels or holes of the sieve element, and the holes of the blocking element enable the regular objects and selected defective objects to enter the upper parts of the channels and they enable the regular objects to fall through the lower parts of the channels and through the holes of the blocking element, while they hold said selected defective objects. In the second configuration the channels or holes of the sieve element and the holes of the blocking element enable said defective objects held in the first configuration to fall through the assembly. The object of the application is an apparatus for picking up a loose substance in the tobacco industry equipment comprising a loose substance feeding unit provided with a loose substance feeding tape and a picking up unit, characterized in that the picking up unit () is provided with vacuum pockets () cooperating with scrapers (), whereas the vacuum pockets () together with the scrapers () are adapted to moving relative to the loose substance () feeding tape (). The object of the invention is a unit for conveying filter segments () for the machines of tobacco industry, comprising a chain conveyor () in a horizontal arrangement on which the lugs () are disposed, the working ends () of which are deflected from the vertical. The unit comprises guides () of the filter segments () provided with an inclined channel () guiding the lug ().

A device for unloading compartment trays holding rod shaped elements, for use in the tobacco industry, is disclosed. The device includes an inlet conveyor for full trays, an unloading conveyor for unloading rod shaped elements into a throat, a conveyor for out-feeding stacks of rod shaped elements that have been unloaded into the throat, and an outlet conveyor for empty trays. A linear transporter for the trays has a gripping unit that grips the full trays and moves the full trays for unloading into the throat, and a second gripping unit that grips the empty trays and moves the empty trays for cleaning in a cleaning mechanism.
