A method and apparatus for redacting a document via a graphical user interface (GUI) on a multi-function device (MFD) are disclosed. For example, the method includes scanning a document, displaying the document on the GUI, receiving a selection of at least one portion of the document to redact via the GUI and creating a new document that redacts the at least one portion of the document that is selected.

A voice recognition method and system. A voice command can be received from a speech recognition unit associated with a device by a language switching module configured in association with the device. The voice command is recognized and processed into particular content to identify via a language database, a language associated with the device. The language can then be changed based on a detected language so that the language can be altered without reference to an instruction manual. In one scenario, a user walks toward the machine or device associated with the user device and speaks the desired/known language. The device 'listens' to the voice, detects the language, and changes the user interface accordingly.

Voice recognition

Printing devices have, among other components, a cartridge positioned within the interior of a device body to receive print media from a sheet feeder. A photoreceptor and marking material are maintained within the cartridge. The photoreceptor transfers marking material from within the cartridge in a pattern to the print media. The printing apparatus also includes a receptacle, that is potentially on the exterior of the device body, which is connected to a supply conduit. A storage container can be positioned in the receptacle. The storage container generally holds only marking material, and the storage container easily and conveniently resupplies the marking material to the cartridge through the supply conduit when the storage container is positioned in the receptacle (e.g., after the cartridge has consumed the original supply of marking material) so as to extend a useful life of the cartridge.

A media supply tray includes a Bowden cable attached to side paper guides. Movement of one side guide causes the opposing side guide to move in the opposite direction. When the side guides are moved, a flag attached to the cable moves and can be detected to provide accurate feedback to a printer regarding media size in the tray.

A method of providing instructions to a user of an imaging device includes generating a three-dimensional (3D) model of the imaging device in a 3D computer generated environment. At least one computer generated imagery (CGI) instruction sequence is then rendered from the 3D model. The CGI instruction sequence depicts at least one action being performed on the imaging device and is rendered from a virtual viewpoint corresponding to a viewpoint of a user physically performing the at least one action. The rendered CGI instructions are stored in memory of the imaging device and selectively displayed on a user interface display screen of the imaging device.

Computer generated imagery (CGI) fault clearance instructions

A system and method to facilitate attempts to ensure that electronic devices are properly and currently configured with correct information stored on electronically writable/readable digital data storage media are provided including a direct linkage between the media as the mechanism used to electronically configure the electronic device and physical product identification labeling that may be properly viewed from outside the electronic device when the media is inserted in the electronic device. Particular components that are traditionally separately provided, e.g., SIM cards and device identification labeling are combined in a unique packaging and delivery system to combine configuration update electronically readable/writable digital data storage media and physical product identification in a single unique package.
