The choral riser of the present invention is adapted to be supported on a stage surface. The choral riser has a base that presents two spaced apart base supports, each of the base support having a first and a second spaced apart pivot point. A first step member has a step pivot point and a base pivot point that is operably pivotally coupled at the base pivot point to the base at the base first pivot point and has at least one step presented thereon. A second step member has a step pivot point and a link pivot point that is operably pivotally coupled at the step pivot point to the first step member at the first step member step pivot point and has a plurality of steps presented thereon. A bar link member is operably pivotally coupled at a first end pivot point to the second step member bar link pivot point. The bar link member is operably pivotally coupled at a second end pivot point to the base second pivot point. The first and second step members are pivotable between a stowed configuration, with at least one of the steps of the first step member facing at least one of the steps of the second step member, and an operational configuration in which the steps of the first and second step members present an ascending succession of steps. The steps are readily reversible to change the stage presentation form.

An improved collapsible stage panel assembly having a base, a vertical panel rigidly attached to the base, an intermediate panel pivotally connected to the top of the rigid vertical panel, a canopy panel pivotally connected to the intermediate panel and a kicker panel pivotally connected to the bottom of the rigid vertical panel. The stage panel assembly has a mechanical assisting device between the rigid vertical panel and the intermediate panel to provide a counter balancing force against the combined weights of the intermediate and canopy panels. A second mechanical assisting device extends between the intermediate panel and the canopy panel to provide a counter balancing force against the weight of the canopy panel. An automatic locking device provides for the locking of the intermediate panel in its extended position relative to the rigid vertical panel when the intermediate panel is placed in its extended position. The improved panel assembly allows for easier conversion between the extended configuration of the panel assembly suitable for combination with other such assemblies to form an acoustic reflecting shell and the folded storage configuration where the panels can be nested together for storage in a minimum of space.

A modularized visual training aid for classroom instruction including a stabilizing base, upright support operably coupled to the base and extending generally vertically upward from the base for storing teaching tools and a display housing pivotably mounted to the upright support. The display housing includes an expandable vertical display surface for exhibition and application of visual materials and teaching tools and is shiftable between an elevated position and a lowered position to accommodate users of different heights. Storage areas for various teaching tools are provided on the base, on the display housing and within the upright support. In operation, the training aid is moved the presentation location and the display housing pivoted into either an elevated or lowered position to present the expandable vertical display surface to the students. A portable musical instrument support for storage, transport, and performance support of musical instruments. The portable musical instruments cart provides for the efficient setup, breakdown, storage and transport of a multiplicity of musical instruments, and is especially adapted for the storage and support of ORFF instruments. The portable musical instruments cart includes a base frame supported by a floor engaging wheel assembly, a pair of fixed shelf surfaces, and first and second expandable shelf assemblies. The base frame includes opposed upright standards of uneven height, and the first and second expandable shelf assemblies are pivotally coupled to respective ones of the upright standards. The expandable shelf assemblies each include a generally U-shaped support leg that supports a respective shelf assembly when in the expanded position, and which provides a hand graspable handle for maneuvering the portable instrument cart when in the folded position.

In accordance with the present disclosure, a portable riser unit for supporting persons or objects above the ground, a floor, a stage or the like is provided. The riser broadly comprises a base, generally rectangular step members, and hinge joints for pivotally, hingedly connecting the step members to the base. The base has an integrally formed, convoluted internal or interior support and baffle wall structure and may be filled with an appropriate low density, high volume material. Each step member also may be of this construction; however, the step members may or may not have an internal support wall. The step members are operably coupled to the base by double axis hinges including hinge blocks received in complementary hinge wells in the base and step members. The hinges are self-leveling to present a substantially smooth, level riser support surface in every possible configuration. The riser may be molded of a plastic material and includes integral hand grips to facilitate moving step members or the entire riser. By manipulating the step members, the riser may be re-shaped into a variety of operable configurations. The invention also encompasses connector keys for connecting two or more risers into a riser assembly.

A portable podium and performance platform system includes one or more platform sections that may be assembled together to provide one or more relatively small elevated surfaces having a horizontal orientation on which an individual or small group of individuals may stand or be seated so as to enhance communication and visibility. At least one of the platform sections includes an integral transport assembly for transporting the platform sections in a vertical orientation. The transport assembly comprises two or more wheels which are mounted on an axis of rotation that is transverse to the platform surface and positioned to allow at least an arcuate section of the wheels to extend beyond a peripheral edge of the platform surface. The podium and performance platform system may be transported to a desired location by tipping the platform sections into the vertical orientation and up onto the arcuate section of the wheels of the transport assembly, rolling the platform sections to the desired location, and then tipping the platform sections back down into the horizontal orientation.

A support structure for mounting and rollably supporting stage backdrop panels and the like is disclosed. A base frame includes a plurality of caster mounting members, with each mounting member rotatable relative to the base frame about an individual mounting member axis. A plurality of casters are rotatably carried by each mounting member, each caster being offset from the axis of its respective mounting member. Several of the mounting members can be attached to the base frame by telescoping fittings, allowing the height of the base frame to be adjusted without disengaging the casters from rollable engagement with the stage floor.

A chair, specifically engineered and designed for musicians which in both adjustable and stackable. A highly developed human factored design which is mechanically correct has been developed. The basic framework for the seat pan and back support of the chair is specifically designed and contoured to enable a performing musicians to breathe properly while comfortably seated. Blow molded plastic is used for the seat pan having a desired amount of flexibility. The seat pan is covered by molded foam and a stretch fabric to enhance the function and comfort of the chair. This combination of materials prevents degradation of the posture configuration of the pan for the life of the chair. The backrest is similarly designed and provides upper back support rather than just a posture guide. The general plane of the chair is tiltable so that the chair can adjust to meet the needs of weight bearing instrumentalists, such as violinists, and can also be used to address the power breathing problems of wind and brass instrumentalists, such as trumpeters. The design of the tilting mechanism and the legs of the chair are such that the chairs can be stacked for storage.
