An exercise device for a person. The exercise device includes mounting straps for mounting on each of two body members on opposite sides of a selected joint of the person, a support member connected to each mounting strap, and a resistance mechanism interconnecting the support members for exercising at least one of the two body members upon repeated moving at least one of the members. The selected joint comprises one of a knee, a hip, an ankle, a wrist, an elbow, and a shoulder. The resistance mechanism includes one of a damper and a pulley with associated rubber bands connected to the oppositely disposed support members.

Exercise device

A pouring spout attachment adapted to being applied to a pourable-product-carrying container over a location where the container has one of a partial depth cut and an opening formed therein. The pouring spout attachment includes a body and may have a removable cap mounted thereon. The body includes an internal projection, an external mounting flange, and an internal end wall having a web segment cut therein so as to be movable about a pivot or hinge line, and a projection formed on the web segment, such that upon the web segment being pivoted inwardly, the projection is pivoted so as to snap past the internal projection to retain a fully open condition.

Pouring spout attachment

A top closure arrangement for an oblong rectangular, gable top container, wherein selected score lines are formed on the wider top closure panels defining panel segments for inward folding during the sealing process. A pour spout fitment is thus mounted on one of the narrow, outer flat closure panels for more convenient handling of the container by the consumer during the pouring process.

A rowing simulator including a frame, a seat slidably mounted on the frame, a pair of adjustable foot rests, and, on each side of the frame, a rotatably mounted flywheel, a driven wheel secured to the flywheel, a rotatably mounted drive wheel, and connector means interconnecting the drive wheel to the driven wheel. An oar is pivotally connected to a rotatable pivot linked to a first universal coupling. The latter is connected to a drive shaft which, in turn, is connected to a second universal coupling connected to the drive wheel.

Rowing simulator

A method for securing a pour spout fitment to a thermoplastic-coated container, wherein at least a surface of a pour spout fitment is heated remotely by a suitable heating mechanism, to a predetermined temperature. When the heated fitment surface is applied to a selected surface of an erected, thermoplastic-coated container, the heat energy is transferred to the latter surface to an extent capable of activating the thermoplastic coating thereon. Upon cooling, the fitment and the container surface are bonded together, without the need for a back-up or support mechanism, such as a mandrel or anvil.

Method for securing articles to laminates

An exercise device to be worn on the user's body. The exercise device includes a resistance arm connected by pivot means at the ends thereof to mechanisms for mounting the resistance arm at spaced apart locations on the human body. The mechanisms for mounting include an arm harness at one end and a body harness at the other end, or a pair of straps for mounting around either an arm or a leg of the user's body spaced above and below an elbow or a knee, respectively.

There is disclosed herein, a container fitment applicator adaptable to applying a flanged pour spout fitment through an opening in a carton top panel while the carton is on a mandrel of a forming, filling and sealing machine. The applicator includes a rotatable shaft having a bar secured thereto, a vacuum cup or location spigot mounted on one end of the bar, and a roller mounted on the other end of the bar, with a chute and feeder coordinating the supplying of one fitment at a time to the vacuum cup. In one embodiment, the roller engages a first cam which serves to pivot the bar to position the fitment in the center portion of the mandrel to permit loading the carton onto the mandrel, with the fitment entering the panel opening as the roller leaves the cam under the force of a spring operatively connected to the bar. In a second embodiment, a spring positions the bar and fitment in the center portion of the mandrel for the carton loading, and a second cam engaged by the roller serves to extend the fitment into the panel opening. The flange of the fitment is sealed by an ultrasonic sealer and horn to the inner surface of the top panel around the opening while the second cam backs up the roller.

Container fitment applicator

A pour spout fitment applicator adaptable to applying a flanged pour spout fitment through an opening in a carton top panel. The applicator includes a rotatable shaft having an anvil secured thereto, a vacuum cup mounted on the distal end of the anvil, and a cam controlled pivotable chute segment for coordinating the supplying of one fitment at a time to the vacuum cup. A linkage and toggle system serves to rotate the anvil and the cam so as to insert the individual fitment directly into the opening. While backed up by the anvil, the flange of the fitment is sealed by an ultrasonic sealer and horn to the inner surface of the top panel around the opening. The applicator operates transversely to the path of movement along a conveyor. As such, two or more applicators may simultaneously apply fitments to closely adjacent cartons.
