An ultrasonic noise device that can be used as an animal entertainment device and/or animal training device. The ultrasonic noise device includes a compressible bladder defining an air retaining cavity and a nozzle operably connected to the bladder and fluidly connected to the air retaining cavity. The nozzle including a nozzle flow pathway extending from a first end of the nozzle to a second end of the nozzle. The ultrasonic noise device also includes a resonator operably connected to the nozzle and defining a resonator flow pathway in fluid communication with the nozzle flow pathway and a pin positioned at least partially within the nozzle flow pathway and aligned with the nozzle flow pathway and a first end of the pin extends towards but does not reach a tip of the nozzle.

Ultrasonic noise device

An electrical generator includes a passageway having an input port and at least one output port and at least one resonator for converting acoustic vibrations established in the passageway into mechanical vibrations of the resonator. The resonator is oriented adjacent at least one output port. A mechanical-to-electrical transducer is coupled to the resonator for generating electricity in response to the mechanical vibrations.

Electrical generator

A position sensor device that produces a variable output voltage when using a light emitting diode, such as an infrared light emitting diode (IR-LED), and a phototransistor further includes the use of a semi-transparent piece of material having a varying thickness that passes between the IR-LED and the phototransistor. The output voltage provided by the phototransistor varies depending on the amount of light collected by the phototransistor, which is controlled by the amount of light passing through the semi-transparent material. The amount of light passing through the transparent material depends on the thickness of the semi-transparent material. With the invention, the semi-transparent material may pass between the IR-LED and phototransistor in either a linear or rotary manner.

Position sensor with an optical member of varying thickness

A novel carrier for carrying a group of items, such as cans, bottles or the like which hold beverages, foods or the like, is made of a substantially transparent, plastic material having micro-embossed partial cube-corner type retro-reflector elements on a surface of the carrier. Each item includes an individual machine readable bar code thereon which is at least partially covered by the reflector elements. The package has a machine readable bar code thereon which is not covered by the reflector elements on the carrier. The reflector elements prevent the individual bar codes on the items from being read by a typical bar code reader beam by reflecting the light emitted from the bar code reader so the light cannot penetrate the carrier and read the bar code underneath the reflector elements. The bar code on the package, which when scanned by the bar code reader beam will retrieve package information, can be read by the reader since it is not covered by the reflector elements.

A heating device for a mirror includes a substrate having an electrical buss system deposited on one surface thereof including a plurality of interdigitated electrodes and two buss bars. There is provided a plurality of heater-lets formed of an electrically resistive layer of material having a positive temperature coefficient. The plurality of heater-lets have varying sizes and shapes and are deposited over the electrical buss system between the adjacent electrodes of the interdigitated electrodes. Each of the plurality of heater-lets are separated from its neighbor by spaces of varying sizes and shapes so as to form a plurality of individual heating areas of variable intensity. A first adhesive layer is deposited over the resistive layer and adheres to the exposed areas of the substrate. An electrical barrier layer is secured to the first adhesive layer, and a second adhesive layer is disposed on the electrical insulated barrier layer. A removable protective covering is secured to the second adhesive layer. The power distribution over the entire substrate is selectively regulated by varying the density of the heater-lets.

Positive temperature coefficient heater with distributed heating

A self regulating heating device for a mirror is disclosed including a substrate having an electrical buss system deposited on one surface including a plurality of interdigitated electrodes and two buss bars. Stripes of positive temperature coefficient resistive material are printed perpendicularly over the buss system to form a plurality of heater areas and exposed substrate areas. A first adhesive layer is deposited over the resistive layer and adheres to the exposed areas of the substrate. An electrical barrier layer is secured to the first adhesive layer and a removable protective covering is secured by the second adhesive layer. The buss bars are tapered such that the power density at any point along their length is substantially equal to the average power density of the heater areas.
