A system for decontaminating an enclosure that defines a region. The system includes a decontamination unit for generating a vaporized sterilant. The decontamination unit includes a housing that defines a chamber therein. An inlet and an outlet of the housing fluidly communicate with the chamber. A bulkhead assembly connects the decontamination unit to the enclosure. The bulkhead assembly includes a barrier assembly for sealing an opening of the enclosure. The membrane traverses the opening of the enclosure. A first port and a second port allow the carrier gas to flow through the membrane. A frame assembly seals the barrier assembly into the opening of the enclosure. An outlet conduit defines a flow path for conveying the carrier gas from the decontamination unit to the region of the enclosure. A return conduit defines a flow path for conveying the carrier gas from the enclosure to the decontamination unit.

Bulkhead assembly for VHP unit with removable diffuser

A decontamination system having modular components to efficiently decontaminate enclosures of various dimensions. The decontamination system includes a main unit comprising a controller, a supply of liquid decontaminant, a vaporizer for vaporizing the liquid decontaminant to generate a vaporized decontaminant, and a destroyer for breaking down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. An embodiment of the present invention includes a detachable dryer and a detachable external blower that are in fluid communication with the main unit. An optional external destroyer and an optional external dryer may be controlled by the controller of the main unit to respectively increase the destroying and drying capacity of the decontamination system.

Modular decontamination system

An apparatus for testing the efficacy of a sterilizing environment on a test indicator, comprising a test chamber, a loading chamber adjacent to the test chamber and an opening connecting the test chamber to the loading chamber. A movable gate mechanism has a first position closing the opening and isolating the test chamber from the loading chamber, and a second position wherein the opening connects the test chamber to the loading chamber. A system is connected to the inlet port and the outlet port of the test chamber for supplying a sterilant vapor to the test chamber to establish a sterilizing environment in the test chamber. An indicator holder is operable to move a test indicator from the loading chamber into and out of the test chamber when the gate mechanism is in the second position.

BIER vessel high-speed biological indicator shuttling system

A vapor decontamination system for decontaminating a defined region. The system is comprised of a chamber defining a region, and a generator for generating vaporized hydrogen peroxide from a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water. A closed loop circulating system is provided for supplying the vaporized hydrogen peroxide to the region. A destroyer breaks down the vaporized hydrogen peroxide, and a sensor downstream from the destroyer is operable to sense moisture in the system and provide electrical signals indicative thereof. A controller determines the presence of vaporized hydrogen peroxide in the region based upon the electrical signals from the sensor.

System and method for determining concentration of sterilant

A voice controlled surgical suite is provided for controlling a plurality of surgical apparatus by a single human. The system includes a voice recognition device adapted to recognize a plurality of predetermined speech commands from a single human and to generate a corresponding set of command output signals. A surgical table is operatively connected with the voice recognition device and is responsive to a first set of the command output signals to initiate selected surgical table movements. A surgical lighthead is similarly connected with the voice recognition system and is responsive to a second set of the command output signals to initiate selected surgical lighthead operations. In addition, surgical camera and task light devices are included in the system and are responsive to fourth and third sets of command output signals, respectively, generated by the voice recognition device to initiate selected surgical camera and surgical task light operations. The surgical apparatus has manual controls to provide redundancy, and to override voice control signals as needed.
