A sample handling apparatus/technique/method are provided for a material analyzer, including: a sample cell insert for carrying sample to and from a sample focal area of the analyzer; a removable sample carrying device for providing sample to the cell insert; and an actuator to flow sample from the carrying device to the sample cell insert. The removable sample carrying device may be a syringe, and the actuator pushes a plunger of the syringe to expel the sample to the sample cell insert. The sample cell insert may be mounted onto a sample cell, the sample cell being insertable into the analyzer for sample analysis. The sample handling apparatus may be used in combination with an optic-enabled x-ray analyzer, the x-ray analyzer including an x-ray engine with an x-ray excitation path and an x-ray detection path, wherein the x-ray excitation and/or the x-ray detection path define the sample focal area.

Non-homogeneous sample handling apparatus and X-ray analyzer applications thereof

The disclosed systems and methods include a mold assembly having a malleable mold (), a moldable blank () and a bladder () positioned about the moldable blank () to transmit an external force applied to the mold assembly uniformly to the moldable blank () and hence to the malleable mold (). The invention further includes a method of replicating a surface by use of the mold assembly. The method may include manipulating the malleable mold () to record the image to be replicated. This manipulation may include a physical engagement of the mold with a physical surface to be replicated. Alternatively, an image, e.g., photograph or laser scan of the surface may be transmitted to a computer numerically controlled ('CNC') system. The CNC system then manipulates the malleable mold () to reflect the surface to be replicated. An activated moldable blank, e.g., a blank () fabricated from a thermo-forming material, is then positioned over the malleable mold. The bladder () is then secured about the moldable blank (). An external force, such as that induced by placing the mold assembly in a vacuum chamber, is then applied to the mold assembly.

This invention relates in general to the determination of silicon levels in fuel mixtures, such as petroleum products. More particularly, the present invention relates to compositions for use as standards in an x-ray analyzer for the measurement of silicon in various fuel mixtures, and to methods of using these compositions.

A card organizer device (10) supported in a cabinet (12) for depositing cards (14) moved into the card organizer device into the cabinet, is described. The card organizer device is comprised of a plurality of panels (26) connected together by dividers (28) to form a plurality of compartments (30) for receiving cards that have been first sorted and then moved through the open top of the holders and into the compartments. The device is also provided with an open bottom which provides for depositing the cards into the cabinet when the card organizer device is removed from the cabinet. That way, the cards lay in the cabinet in a fanned and sorted order. The sorted cards can then be removed from the cabinet and placed back into a conventional set box container. The sorted cards can then be held in the set box container for appreciation or resale. A cover is also provided that mounts over the cards and the card organizer device mounted in the cabinet to protect the sorted cards.

A card organizer device (10) supported in a cabinet (12) for depositing cards (14) moved into the card organizer device into the cabinet, is described. The card organizer device is comprised of a plurality of elongate, side-by-side holders (40, 42, 44, 46) each having a plurality of compartments (94, 98, 102, 106) for receiving cards that have been first sorted and then moved through the open top of the holders and into the compartments. The holders are also provided with open bottoms. This provides for depositing the cards into boxes (32, 34, 36 and 38) formed in the cabinet when the card organizer device is removed from the cabinet. That way, the cards lay in the boxes of the cabinet in a fanned and sorted order. The sorted cards can then be removed from the cabinet and placed back into a conventional set box container. The sorted cards can then be held in the set box container for appreciation or resale. A cover (114) is also provided that mounts over the cards and the card organizer device mounted in the cabinet to protect the sorted cards.
