A method is disclosed for archiving data in a storage server using a runtime monitoring system. The method includes providing a plurality of data files and creating access logs according to a specified format, which may include an append only access log, from the plurality of data files. At least one of the access logs from the plurality of data files is examined and a file will be archived from the examination of the access logs. An archive procedure is initiated for a file when the file has not been accessed for a specified period of time. If the file will be archived includes ascertaining if the file has a duplicate entry in the access log, and archiving the file when the file does not have the duplicate entry in the access log.

Scan-free archiving

For information lifecyle management (ILM) a process receives a user-definition of ILM actions, data state transitions, and associations among the respective data state transitions and ILM actions and responsively stores a data structure representing the received data state transitions, ILM actions, and correspondence among the respective data state transitions and ILM actions. A process for an ILM model detects a workflow definition event in a monitored process running on a computer system. An information lifecycle flow data structure for the workflow definition is stored responsive to the workflow definition in the monitored process having a data state transition matching one of the user-defined data state transitions, wherein the information lifecycle flow data structure models the matching data state transition, so that the ILM action corresponding to the matching data state transition may be performed for the data responsive to occurrence of a workflow process event in which the matching data state transition occurs.

Business-semantic-aware information lifecycle management

Programs, systems and methods are described for efficiently storing data as used under a workflow-driven model. A workflow process is defined to control the processing of data objects through different states, e.g., such as an insurance claim document passing through different stages of processing. The workflow process is modeled and employed to manage the storage system based upon predicted state changes derived from state statistics that can be applied to enhance efficiency. For example, copies of the data object may be automatically made when the data object is expected to change state. Some anticipated states implicating high access may direct a storage location with low access time. Hints or requirements for the data object may be applied upon occurrence of an expected state change. Storage management of expected state changes may be further enhanced through dynamic adjustment of the state statistics using collected historical state information to further enhance efficiency.

System and method for workflow-driven data storage

A data accessing method and system. The method includes receiving by a computing system from a first user, a first user profile comprising user preference data associated with the first user. The computing system receives and stores Webcast data associated with a Webcast that has been broadcasted for an entity. The Webcast data comprises audio/video data. The computing system receives from the first user, a first request for access to the first Webcast data. The computing system associates the user preference data with a first set of specified portions of the audio/video data. The computing system retrieves a first portion of audio/video data of the first set of specified portions of the audio/video data. The computing system presents the first portion of audio/video data to the first user.
