A work vehicle, such as a motor grader, comprises a frame, a ripper, a tie bar attached to the frame, and a four-bar linkage attached to and disposed between the ripper and the tie bar for transferring a load between the ripper and the frame via the four-bar linkage and the tie bar. The four-bar linkage and the tie bar are co-planar with respect to a plane within which the four-bar linkage is movable relative to the frame. A toolbar for the ripper is also disclosed.

Ripper assembly with direct load path

A grader-blade retainer assembly affording side-to-side movement of the blade that provides a compliant attachment of an upper retainer assembly to the grader-blade assembly. An embodiment facilitates adjustment of the retainer assembly, as in the case of wear, without the necessity of hand tools.

A backhoe boom lock for locking the boom to the swing frame during transporting and craning operations. The boom is provided with two upwardly open hooks that project on either side of the swing frame when the boom is retracted into its craning or transport positions. Two bell cranks are located on each side of the swing frame and are provided with transverse catches for engaging the upwardly open hooks. The bell cranks are biased downwardly by springs. A linkage for lifting the bell cranks against the biasing force of the springs extends from the bell cranks into the interior of the operator's cab. The linkage is provided with a control lever, located inside the operator's cab for lifting the bell cranks. After the boom has been retracted into its transport or craning position, the control lever is released and the bell cranks rotated by the biasing springs so that the catches engage the upwardly open hooks on the boom.

Backhoe boom lock

A coupler is provided for implementation on the boom of an excavator and adapted for receiving and coupling an arm or implement. The coupler is pinned to the boom through apertures and a pair of parallel plates. An actuating hydraulic piston is connected to the coupler through holes passing through another pair of plates. Attachment to the arm or implement is achieved by first engagement of a pair of slots with pins on the arm, and subsequent engagement of other slots with another pair of pins. The last mentioned slots have associated therewith a cam locking plate which closes the slot upon the pins to prevent removal.

Boom/arm coupler for excavator

A backhoe is mounted on the rear end of a tractor and includes a boom constructed of first and second separate sections which are interconnected by means that are selectively alterable to establish first and second conditions respectively wherein the first and second separate sections are fixed relative to each other to thereby establish a rigid boom for normal backhoe operation and wherein the first and second sections are pivotable relative to each other to thereby establish a foldable boom to permit the latter to be moved toward the tractor to a folded transport position.
